New Hd Lcd Monitor

i ordered an ikan 8000w today directly from ken at the company.i don't know how well it will work with my canon a1,but ken took real good care of me in promising me the high def version of their monitor in a month in a half once its out.the deal was i could return my sd monitor and pay the difference of the high def monitor once available.the hd monitor will only be $799 which is almost half of what marshell is robbing us poor indi filmakers for.so in a nut shell i get a monitor now that flips my image but a high def for an extra few hudred bucks in another month.for me a win win situation.i hope all the ma and pa manufatures will overthrow these highpriced companies like marshall and mini 35 makers.
 
Is it a true HD monitor or does it up-rez?
I have a Marshall and would be fun to do a side by side.

just saw it today ON THE A1. looks FANTASTIC. critical HD focus ust got a LOT easier!!!!

8" 720p and 1080i
full pass though of all inputs mentioned above
integrated L series battery plate that can charge a battery while in use connected to ac power

full kit - monitor, ac power and heavy duty shoe mount $795

thats HALF of what the comparable marshall is. NOW, its not quite as slick as the marshall. but at this price, i'll make do QUITE HAPPILLY!
 
the 8000w has VGA inputs.. the 8000HD has component BNC inputs.. I think they have similar internal components.. the same resolution and the 8000w is cheaper..
 
Does the SD version (8000W) take the Sony L battery pack or does only go on ac power? If the HD monitor is the only one that does out of the two, that might be a big reason to spend the extra couple hundred for it.

Anyone know?
 
I've been talking to the CEO of the company and he's a really cool dude! I'm getting one of these monitors for sure!
