Mirror POV shot...impossible?

I want to do a shot of a character from HIS POV, looking into a bathroom mirror and seeing himself. Ideally this would be done with some camera movement...he walks into the bathroom, turns to the mirror and sees himself. All from his own POV. Maybe even sees his hands up around his face, both in the mirror, and directly in front of the camera. I know it'd be tough to pull off...but impossible?

That thread should be helpful. It sounds like for your shot, you'd need to do a double-room set, a mirrored room. The actor would be in one room and you would be filming the POV from the other room. Cutout where the mirror would be. You'd have to sync your camera operation with the actor moving into frame in front of the "mirror."

Yes, exactly. They did this in Terminator 2. It's an elaborate set up but pretty amazing.

With that method wouldnt you still see the camera that is behind the actor in the video shot by the camera behind the mirror?

Didn't Aronofsky use this technique in Requiem? Its been awhile since I've seen it (and I even own it!) but I recall him using it at one point.

Heck of a little trick to pull off. In theory, it's pretty simple. You've just got to execute properly.

In the method I suggested, there is no mirror... there are two rooms with a hole between them where the mirror would be.
