WTB: Brevis for around $800

There was literally one Brevis for sale and that was months ago. Your better off not wasting time, and forking out the extra dough for a new one. It's good to get on it cause it takes a while. It seems to be a great product but customer service is seriously undermaned. What would take a normal company one day takes them about a week. I hear it's worth the wait though

D, we're about 2 weeks from "D-day" meaning no outstanding adapters .. and no wait for new orders Don't :crybaby: .... we're almost caught up. There are 3-4 beta units that were traded in for new rev2 units. We've completely rebuilt these and will have them up shortly as reconditioned units. They won't have the rear XY adjustment of rev2 units, but they will be priced at just over $500 and be optically identical.

Sounds cool. I take it the beta units don't have the HD achromat? Also the beta ones can't have the diffuser swapped out right? What problems will not having the rear XY adjustment pose? If it's not anything huge I'm sold.

The reconditioned beta units are upgraded to the removeable imaging element system, new cells, etc. so no issues there. We do have HD achromats available to work with them if required. The downside of not having rear XY adjust is that you cannot fine tune if your camera is not recording images lens-centric. Sounds strange, but surprisingly common.
Hmm, do you have any anectodal evidence on what cameras have problems with this. My school uses DVX's rigiht now and is looking into getting a Canon HV 10. Is this to say that if I'm not getting full edge-to-edge sharpness I won't have any way to ameliorate the problem? (If there's a thread on the cinevate forum that discusses this just let me know and I'll go to that rather than bother you with these questions.)

I'm very interested in this. Will more info be put up when it's closer to d-day? I was gonna wait a few months to get into the adapter game but at prices like that I'd jump a lot sooner.

The HD100 looks to be the worst for this, although we see it in a few dvx's too. There would be no impact on edge to edge sharpness, just the need to zoom in a bit more in some cases. The imaging element is larger than the 35mm lens image cone, so really, the XY issue is not a huge one. We have a definite preference obviously for the rev2 design, but optically, the beta's will not differ in performance.
