I think that exact frame is cut from the final. I spent 2 DAYS editing and re-editing the 30 seconds associated with this and had 5 versions I think. But anyway here's the newest grab from the completed contest version with a mix of practical and post blood and final grading.

Looks like you guys have a lot of experience, looking forward to the film. What is the origin of the name? Is it German?
 
The actors have been seen on the board here a lot. I have been lurking for a while, and ever only made a few films though.

Yeah, Schittekatter is German. (I think) SHI TE-uh-kotter. (I think) :)

Can't say too much more about the name though:shocked:

Funny, I'm SO stinkin' uncultured ... looked/sounded Japanese the way I was saying it in my head, lol.

Looking forward to seeing this thread update some more with BTS, etc. So, Keystoned, you're Taylor, I take it? Welcome aboard!
 
Kind of, yeah.... but I was probably leaning more towards those mushrooms (shitake?). Eitherway, I giggle like an immature little school boy at the first part of the name. Yep, I'm easily ammused. Just give me a ball of yarn & watch me go ... :cheesy:

EDIT: Just realized your banner is spelled differently than the thread heading ... was the 'C' that's in the heading put in because of the automatic filter that even sensored my mushroom name above or does the banner have a typo?

D'oh, you are right. Corrected in banner now. Correct spelling is Schittekatter.
(that's what I get for doing a quick and simple banner)
 
I'm a big fan of those actors. And that font looks really familiar...could swear I've seen it somewhere before. Can you tell what it is, or did you make it?

When I first saw it, I thought it said: "****-kicker..." :)
 
Yeah they are great actors and great to work with. Michael Sullivan is the red mutant in ODD Squad. Hopefully it will be fun for people to see him in something looking like himself instead of under a pound of prosthetic makeup. Especially since while we were shooting, he told me that during SciFest someone called him a lady. I think they said something like "I liked the red lady mutant" or something, lol.

Don't know about the font and seeing it before, but I got off dafont.com, which I found via a link I got of the French Quarter Features website.
 
Oh man, I'm sorry ... I'll bet you anything that if you dig through Jack's ODD SQUAD thread, you'ld see that was me that thought he was a lady, lol. Sooo sorry, Michael!!
 
No he loved it. He said it was his favorite comment. I think 1, because it was funny and 2, he said that Jack had him loop the dialogue and improv the lines and that the take he used was the "say it like an 11 year old school girl" take or something like that, lol.

haha, we did have a lot of fun
we are wrapped already.

I am waiting for the on set photog to upload some photos for me and I'll post those.

Also gonna put some of my journal up, but here's one highlight from the shoot:
We were shut down on the
last day of shooting by HOMELAND SECURITY
with 1 page to film and 2 hours of daylight left,
1 of the actors going out of town for MONTHS the next day,
and being BANNED from ever returning to the location

And yet we found a way to finish with a better ending.
...more on that when I get aroun to the journal pages.
