Hey everyone

I've been working on a new series for the website, Itsallinyourhands.com

It's called Moonshine and it will debut at the website this Monday, March 26 at Midnight, EST

Moonshine, like all the other shows on itsallinyourhands.com is an interactive web series where the audience decides the fate of the characters and storyline..

Tune in Monday for Part 1/3

The following Monday, April 2nd for Part 2/3

And the next Monday, April 9th for Part 3/3 - After Part 3/3 YOU will be given the chance to vote.. after a week of votes a new script will be written based on the decision and the cycle will continue

We used Final Cut Pro for grading, Magic Bullet, HVX + Brevis35 w/ the cinefuse3 diffuser and Nikkor glass - I used my 50mm 1.8 for 80% of the day - The Brevis35 w/ the CF3 rocks the house

ENJOYO!

I like the footage/grade Richard, and CF3 is looking good. I am also enjoying the CF3.

Looking forward to seeing the next few eps, as I try to figure out what we may be voting for.

Richard... WHat kinds of problems did you have with the Redrock? How's the Brevis better? I've been hearing something of this on the boards but seems like people have been reluctant to sandbag the other adapter. Gonna check out the clip now

Some nice mood ya servin' up there. Like the look with the tint and the adapter footie looks great. Crisp and no edge issues or whatever.

Can't tell where ya going with this and that's the best compliment. I also think that the touch with the little girl in the carseat was pricless...

lookin for da next one... Aren't these also some of ya bros from the shorts you did before?

Yea these are a few of my bros from my other shorts - I had them cast in those roles because I knew they would be reliable! I love the Brevis/CF3 setup - I don't use a monitor with it, which I like, keeps everything lightweight and mobile, although focus is crucial - That scene in the begining was stopped short by security who told us to leave ASAP, I was able to convince them to let us film for 2 more minutes which turned into 20 and then we bolted - I like the bRevis over the Redrock because its lightweight, easy to setup and produces very little vignetting. THe CF1 kinda smears the picture but is great in low light, the CF3 is gorgeus and its up more light, great for outdoor work

Glad you guys liked it, Part 2 comes out next Monday - stay tuned!

Great editing, nice shot choice, framing and the CC'ing were all top par. However, part I is confusing. Each episode should be written and thought of as a mini movie. You don't have to have an ending, thats for part II, but you do have to have a concrete beginning and middle. What you seemed to have done is raise a lot of questions in part 1 in the hopes of having viewers return for part II to get some answers. But what ends happening instead is the viewer is left confused in part I and most likely won't return to watch part II. I can guarantee you that I and many others on this site will tune in for part II, that's because your directing, editing and overall presentation is very well done, but to make the show popular, you need more then just HVX Pani fans to watch. Best of luck mate.

Manymoosh,

I completely agree with you, this is a fear I had and I realize there's nothing I can do about it now - I have to ride this wave out and prep my stories a lot better for Episode 2

It's all a great big learning process : )

Thanks for your feedback

More cool stuff Richard.

If I may ask, what was the shutter setting you used? Quite a lot of motion blur observed when the lead moves quickly during the interior office shots. Not a bad thing, I'm just curious.

Can't wait to see what we can vote for next week.

Thanks Christopher - I was using 1/24 in the office - I had to compromise, was using natural daylight through the windows there and also had on the CF3 and was using a slower lens, 28mm f/2.8 - I could have jumped down to the CF1 but I wanted the DOF to be a little deep for that scene - the original looks a little better than the compressed web version I've noticed

Richard, that is good that you basically made use of available light. You did a better job than me, dealing with CF3 in low light, if you saw my recent tests I posted. My Nikon 35mm is f2.8 fully open and you can see part of the mottling effect on diffuser, more so with that one being my slowest prime lens. CF3 is very impressive imo, just requires really fast lenses as Dennis pointed out. CF2 my likely safe bet option, though looking forward to CF1e-CF3e, once finalised (soon).

I really like you run and gun approach, slight camera movement, even when on sticks (you did some right? or you are pretty damn steady for hand held), makes for a nice feel. No monitor, no LCD flip/paper clip trick, you're good dude.
