HVX-200 Movie / behind the scense footage

We are shooting a feature length movie (horror/thriller with a $200k budget) on an HVX-200. Shooting starts Tuesday March 20th. Would anyone have any interest in the behind the scenes footage? I was thinking of making an in depth video about 20-30 hours of movie production/shooting/lighting etc. with the hvx 200. Would anyone want to buy it for a fee? (probably around $49.00)

Please let me know.

Thanks!

I mean buy the behind the scense production footage of a hvx200 feature length movie.

Yes, I'd need to charge a fee somewhere around $50, it will be around 30 hours of footage on 15+ dvd's. If there is no interest I won't waste my time.

thanks

Are you talking about "selling" the BTS footage? That's what telebay appears to be asking you. Most BTS footage is included on the DVD of the movie you purchase. Are you trying for something else, like a "here's how to do this" type of deal? Your post leaves a lot of unanswered questions. I generally would not purchase BTS footage by itself unless it is trying to teach something, and in a structured setup. Again, I don't think anyone can answer your question because it is so vauge IMO.

Good luck.

I cant say if you'd be wasting your time by shooting the footage as it may be useful to cut a 15 minute BTS for the DVD package. As far as selling the BTS by itself for any amount of money:- Unless you happen to produce a major hit movie or you are a big time director doing a $200k feature out of your own pocket, or some miracle happens on your set, I doubt that anyone would be interested in paying $49 for your 30+ hours of footage.

Your BTS is not just showing the scene with comments about the movie, is it? - Twice you spell "behind the scense" and that is what I would think about it, if it was a commercial BTS. Behind any sense!

But if you talk about a video that teaches shooting movies:

I have some problem with your mention to "waste your time" ... This means, you won't do it with passion and fun, but just for the money. I wouldn't buy a project with this philosophy behind it. The best results off demand (as for me) are to shoot without thinking to get even a cent for the work. Just to satisfy myself by realizing a project from A to Z and keeping in mind the message, I want to transmit. So the result will be complete and you will feel the passion behind. THEN you can present a trailer etc. about the project and then people who share your feelings will like it and buy it. That's MY philosophy. Sometimes you even can convince people to like the idea you have even if they used to be far from it. But sorry, I can't love your idea of a video just for money and I think I'd feel the commercial idea in each shot of it, as we do with too commercial movies, where you can "smell" that they were just made for gain.

And really, the fact that you want $50 just makes me scratch my head... I mean $50 is such a small amount of money that it makes me wonder why you would bother putting together 30 hours of footage in the first place? I mean, I almost want to pay the $50 just to have my curiosity fulfilled.

You've got moxie. This is going to be another indie horror flick that I probably wouldn't put on my netflix queue but for just 50 dollars I can sit through 30 hours of BTS. Thank You this is awesome. Put me down for two.

I'd pay $50 to watch Conrad Hall light a scene. This does, of course, have more to do with my life-long fascination with zombies than BTS footy.

Indeed. You might have something if you approached it as a teaching aid and had more structure than just 15 dvds worth of stuff. Unless it was from the Departed or Goodfellas or something like that.. would be hard to swallow.

However.. what if you were to go a small step farther and show the storyboards... sides from the script.. show some camera and blocking rehearsals.. then show how it comes together on the set and then show the final footage. Now that might be something worth while to some. Would need to be thought out thought..

Also.. why not just shoot it for your own promotional purposes like people have said and cut together a 20 minute making of DVD
