Sending the DVX100A for service question?

Well, looks as if I'm going to have to send in my DVX100A to Panasonic to get my heads cleaned. I have had the red circle with the big X come up twice now.
The first time was at 35 hrs. the second just recently at 50 hrs.

Both times I've used a Panny head cleaner tape (which worked for a while) but the red circle reappears.
This seems to be an extremely limited use of my camera for this to be happening? I can see if it was in the hundreds of
hours of use but for this to happen at 35 then 50 hrs. seems somewhat suspect.

In any case, for those of you who have had to send your DVX back to Panny for any service, is there anyone in particular to send it too?
Also, what did it cost to have the heads cleaned and how long was the turn around time.

Any advice would be appreciated.

that does seem like its coming up pretty soon. are you mixing tapes?

I use two diferent DVX's each with 50-65 hours and nether have had a head cleaning nor needed one.

You could also try cleaning the heads yourself. I've done it 6 times and I have almost 300 hours on my DVX100a. I haven't had a single glitch. Serious. Well except for the time I bumped my camera.

It IS kind of scary at first but it's just cause you are doing surgery on your baby. But after the 2nd time, it's like flossing. It sorta hurts, but its worth it.

Are you mixing tapes, i use too have problems when i mixes the tapes. From Dry to wet tapes. the head clough up really fast.
