FS: Habbycam 5' Mini-Jib/Crane

Greetings!

I am selling my Habbycam Mini-Jib. It's based on an aluminum bar and pulley system and it works fairly well. It mounts on any professional tripod head and the tilt is controlled with the head handle. It has about a 5-foot reach and breaks down to 4-5 parts for transportation. It requires standard weights for the back to counter balance (inexpensive and available anywhere that sells gym equipment) or sandbags if you want to go that route.

I'm selling it as I can no longer use it as I'm primarily shooting with an XL2 now and it does not support the weight involved. I've used it with my Canon GL2 and Optura cameras with ease, but I will be honest and say that it is definitely not for larger cams like the Canon XL series or the HVX200. A DVX100 series cam may be pushing it, but it should work as long as there are no other attachments.

For those that never heard of Habbycam, the owner, Richard Haberkern, has apparently closed the company to focus on his new product, the Trackstick, which is a type of GPS locating device. He used to manufacture jibs, camera supports, and other filming gear. While he was helpful about answering questions about his merch before, he probably is no longer supporting any of his previous products, so this won't have a warranty or any tech support short of me.

I originally paid about $250 for this, so I'm selling it for $125 + insured shipping. (Price lowered!)

I will try to post some original pics later, but here are a couple pics of the 8-foot version of the same jib. Again, mine is the 5-FOOT version and is blue, not black.

GL2 mounted on the Habbycam Jib with 12.5lbs. of freeweights for counterbalance. As you can see, the reach on just a 5-footer is still pretty substantial.

Oh yeah...Manfrotto head/tripod/dolly, weights, and LANC controller not included. :)

do you have any footage i can see that you shot with this< I am leaning towards the Kessler

I will be completely honest and say that I am looking to replace this with a Kessler Crane myself. They cost about three times as much as what I'm asking for this, but the quality is about 3x better as well. If you have the cash, you should definitely go for the K-Crane. But if you have a really tight budget, this is still a great deal towards getting crane shots in your next project.

Unfortunately, I didn't take any footage when I set up everything to take the above shots a few days ago. And now, we got snow dumped on us yesterday and it's about 28' outside. So if the jib hasn't sold in a week or so and it warms up a bit, I'll try to set everything up again and get some footage to post.

Thanks for your interest!

Yep. Sold for $100 and mailed out today. Keep checking the board for jibs/cranes as someone's bound to have one.
