don't have a dvx on me currently so i'm hoping you can help me out. was wondering if 30p or 60i would be best if the final product will be on the web and dvd's? there will be a lot of slow pans and zooms. was thinking 60i for smoother pans but then again, 30p since to avoid deinterlacing and it will end up on the web and progressive scan dvd players. any experience, feedback much appreciated! thanks!

30P... or better yet, 24p. Why were you thinking 60i in the first place? am I missing something here?

60i for smoother pans. right now i'm debating shooting 30p to avoid deinterlacing but less smoother pans or 60i for smoother pans but deinterlacing in post. don't need 24p...

When you say "smoother pans"... the question is how fast are you panning? you can achieve the same pans in 60i or 24p, you just can pan too fast in 24 or you'll get the jitters. Actually, panning in 60i would give you interlacing artifacts, which I assume you don't want...

yeah, i will need to probably do slow pans to achieve smoothness. as soon as the cam comes in i need to test things out...
