Kinda makes you look at the price of the p2 store vs. the price of a new Macbook with one of these.... Yes the P2S is more compact and has a longer battery life, but who wouldn't like a new notebook?? Plus you can get 160GB hard drives with the MB's I think. So longer recording times. Not to mention all the possiblities of previewing/editing/monitoring on set wit a program like flipflop.

That's why many of us have been using a PC laptop for all this time. The cost of a laptop vs. the cost of a P2 Store... especially when you factor in all the things a laptop can do that the P2 Store can't...

Cynic.
This is straight out of David Ciembronowicz. The press release was provided by him.

He said they have officially launched their product today. And, according to the press release, are now taking orders, with a 99 dollar special offer.

Concerning you being able to talk about the Beta program, I wouldn't know, though :)

Jason

The product is "launched", but it's not going to be in users' hands for another three or four weeks. So I'd say you should talk to your beta-test coordinator to find out whether you're allowed to talk about it or not.

Ditto. P2 Store, PCMCIA converter, and External Hard-drives sound better than P2 Store.

This has been long overdue. I hope it is as fast as they say it is. waiting to download a p2 card with the p2store and macbookpro took forever. usb 2.0 to transfer gigs...what was panny thinking?
