Ok so heres the story, me and friends were skateboarding and we see a car pull up, thinking that we were about to get kicked out, I pack all my camera gear into my backpack. So the guy came in and ended up being cool with us skating there, so we go back to skating, and when we're about to leave I grab my camera bag and everything goes flying.....I see my precious dvx with it ultra fisheye hit the ground head on. The fisheye gets knocked off......along with my camera threads and focus ring. The plastic parts where the screws hold the camera threads on are cracked. So i pretty much need a place to buy these parts, or a store that can fix it for me. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Hard to judge without pics, but if you broke your focus assembly, you need to order a new one--part # VXP2212 ($55.02 + shipping/handling) from the Panasonic Parts Division (800-833-9626).

It's a breeze to install, so long as you have an appropriate screwdriver.

Fear not, the DVX is a rugged piece of equipment.

I dont have a warranty on it... I think whats broken is the part sean said, but I need to be sure. The yellow parts in the pic are what I need. Thanks for the help! :cheesy:

Wow Beebs, that's heartbreaking stuff.

I'd hate to think what would happen to my XL2 if it had the same fall - I'd probably sell it for parts on e-bay and buy another DVX!! :)

Hey 32rider32!! VE was what was in my mind at first. But the repair just seemed so easy(just unscrewing some screws, and replacing the part) so I really just want to save as much money as I can and fix it myself. I'm just not sure if the part sean suggested includes both pieces of plastic. I will call them tomorow. And to beziermask, I can never sell my baby!!

i feel for you the same thing happened to me. i sent it to speccomm.com and they fixed for 300 bucks and i had it back within the week.

There's an elite group of DVX users called, "The Dropped DVX Club."

The cost of membership is high, but so are the rewards.

(Well, actually, there are no rewards.)

Fear not, beebs, I bet your camera will be fine. I have experience in this area!

Search around here for a thread by Barry_S; he did the same thing and he successfully repaired it, and I believe he posted instructions on how to do so. If you can't find it, try sending him a PM.

I got a PM from Barry_S last night, and I just ordered the part #VXP2360(replaces #VXP2122), which includes all the parts I need. Thanks for all the help everyone!!!

Sadly I'm a member of that club, I dropped mine at a club in Miami when someone bumped into me and my membership fee was $900 and I had to wait 2 months to get in thanks to my powerboard and battery plate being on backorder. But fear not, my DVX was as good as new when I got it back.
