Just Got My Hvx!!

I know there have been many threads like this but it is still exciting. You pull that baby out of the box and your life changes. The first thing that surprised me was how big it is. In the photos it looks kinda plastic like but in reality it is big and beefy and slick compared to my dvx100a. I better get to reading on how to use this baby and hope to get my free p2 card asap....
I still got love for my DVX but it is good to have all the options now.
Look forward to meeting everyone in HD land.
 
it looks plastic, but its mostly metal. my sore arm is living proof. BE happy dude you got a beast of a machine.
 
No doubt I am happy. I love big and beefy and I was pleasantly surprised by the look and feel of the HVX. I may have to come up with another spyfest entry just to try it out....I will start working out first though...
 
Congrats man!

Make sure you pick up Barry's Book and the Bootcamp DVDs. I found the HVX to be familiar, yet... significantly different than the DVX and those support materials are indispensable.

The Panasonic HVX200 is a beauty. I just picked up Cam and FireStore-100 yesterday. Faxed the paper work to Panasonic for the "Free" P2 card (btw, they have the P2's in stock and should not take long to send them out, as I was told).

A big "Thank You" to Toby at EVS in Burbank for all his help.
 
i had my "profile photo" up for liek 4 months....

But i found a new one i like. the freaked out guy. Back on track HVX rules.
 
Congrats man. I would also recommend the HVX DVD.
I'm sure you know, but the free p2 card takes a while (took me about ten weeks to get) and I had to mail a Invoice and a UPC cutout of the box.
 
Yep, DVD's are on the way. Looks like it is easier to get the rebate items now by just doing it online....I guess we will see how long it takes. I may just buy an 8gb p2 card now because I know I will want 2 anyway....
Is there anything wrong with shooting 720p/24p to tapes. Is it possible? I need to reasearch.
 
Congrats... I got mine last July and I cant say enough on how much I love this camera. It changed the way I shoot, edit and deliver. Rock on.

Also, I spoke with Panasonic and they did not say anything about the UPC. They just said to fax or mail the page you print out from when you submit the form online and a copy of the invoice.

The sales guy at Abel Cine tech recommended I send in the upc and since there was an extra, easily removable one on my box I went ahead and sent it in with the invoice anyway.

Had my HVX 3 weeks now. Got my first paying shoot this weekend. 3 tv spots for a vitamin supplement company.
