My First Live Music Recording

she has a great voice

My suggestion is don't use those blend transitions. Looks amateurish (in my opinion, although works in some cases).

In terms of lighting, next time buy some work lights and just point two at her from the front at 45 degree angles. If you want to get fancy, get back lights for each camera to make the girl pop from each setup.

I really don't know anything about light. Where can I get lights? Any brand and types? How much should I expect to pay?

The question is NOT "how much should I expect to pay", it's how much CAN you pay?

A basic light kit can run from $900 up to $6000 easily. By the looks of what you're shooting, I'd say you're on a budget and would probably rather hear that you can get some "Home Depot" work lights for 15 bucks a piece, and they would REALLY help out your footage. Lighting is a HUGE part of making good video, and it can take years to learn. Check out the lighting section of these forums and go crazy.

p.s. agreed on the beautiful voice.

p.s.s Xmaster... don't let this discourage you in any way. Continue to shoot as much as possible (even if you're not happy with the footage) untill you can afford more goodies. You'll be surprised on how much you can learn just by getting out there and doing it. Good luck, and keep 'em coming.
