Join the "Low headphone monitor level" club. You are not alone.

Best advice I can give you is get some good headphones (sony mdr 7506) and deal with it the best you can. Every DVX100B suffers from this (so I've heard).

did you bring the volume up all the way on the volume controls under the LCD? Also - if your headphones require a lot of power, they wont be quite as loud.. but yeah, if you're in a loud environment you have to have isolating cans otherwise it's really tough

I've never had a problem with my 100B, even with my crappy hearing, but then again I've got a decent pair of sound isolating headphones.

Someone mentioned in another thread that Best Buy had a plug that increased the volume. I'll search for the thread because I record in noisy environments and can never hear through any of my headphones.

I think in the DVX book it said something along the lines of using pro gear to monitor the audio and that the [pro]headphones themselves would boost the signal of the audio. I use the dvx100A and have not had any problems with the ear buds i got from best buy. my 2 cents

...my hearing is not good, I couldn't hear audio until I bought the Sony headphones (7506) that Barry recommends in the DVX Book...great phones, sound no longer a problem. Well spent $100...

Im using Audio Technica cans, cost about $250 USD. Sound is half your presentation so may as well have the right equipment.
