Hey,

I'm in the purchasing process. Can anyone tell me what the differences are between the dvx 100b and dvx 100bp? thanx

Humanimal.

I had the same question back when I bought my DVX100A. That's right, the P is for NTSC and E menas PAL.

AG-DVX100BP is a North American(this includes Canada, Puerto Rico and Panama and Mexico) model In fact the US model box should have on the outside of the box AG-DVX100BPS, the camera is only marked AG-DVX100BP. The PS1 is the indicator for the direct ship cameras as we ship directly from the factory to the dealer. AG-DVX100B is a Japanese model.

Hope this helps,

Jan

Jan I found one of your old post that said this:

Hi,

The P indicates that it is an NTSC model and is desinated for shipping to North America. E would indicate a European model. The model that is shipped in the US today and only in the US is an AG-DVX100BPS. This indicates that there is a paper inside that will tell you a website for registering your camera and getting the rebate. We started this model number in February last year when we started to ship directly from Japan to the dealers. The cameras actually go through Customs as they leave Japan. In Canada, Puerto Rico and the Panama, it is the AG-DVX100BP.

Hope this helps,

Jan

So does that mean if you had a DVX100BP it would have to be shipped back to Panama or someplace for warranty work?

In general this is true.

thanks Jan,,,I 'm glad I just missed a good deal on a used one. I ask the guy a couple of times where he bought it and he never would say. I guess for a reason!!

Thanks Jan

Thanks Jan

Thanks Jan for clarifying these confusing model number designations. I was referred to your links by others in this forum.
