Greetings, Fellow DVX users
Wish The Movie is a little production that I have been DPing the last few weeks. It's a project for a Director and good friend of mine here in Chicago.

This small project is for on the lot. However the piece you are about to see is only 5min in length, due to competition rules, there are 2 additional scenes which will make up the rest of the film. ( not submitted to the competition)

Currently we don't have a high rez copy up on the net, we are reserving that for the final film.

I enjoyed it man. the mother's conversation was cut a little loose but everything was well done. The kids were fantastic.

Thanks a bunch. You know the funny thing is the kids have no formal acting. I agree they did a great job. They worked very hard, and put up with all the takes we had to do.

The hardest thing for us was filming the outside scenes. The day we were filming it was -12 degrees outside.

Basically we set up the lighting, and sound crew. Set all the camera settings while the kids stayed inside. wen we were ready we would call them, shoot, give them a warm up break, then start the process all over.

The key for working with the kids was keeping them warm and Fed.

The "Little Rascals" of 2007.

I would lose the crossdisolve from the boys playing outside to the mother talking on the phone. It went from a pro-film to an amateur film in that transition. Just a thought.

The boys response "look what I got!" was too delayed after he pulled it out of the chicken.

At the end when he wished to be back home shouldn't have been a problem because he originally wished that "anything he wished for would come true", meaning all he had to do was wish to be a wise guy again. This movie would have ended much tighter if his original wish was to have TWO wishes. One was to be a wise guy and then when he wished to be back home, all of his wishes are gone.

Also, Im not sure what the mother's conversation had to do with anything. Maybe if she was talking to someone on the phone and made fun of her boy for thinking he's a wise guy. Then when he makes that wish we understand why.

I think you did a good job. Good luck with it.

Thanks for the constructive criticism. I wish I could say I was involved with the editing, but that was not my call. ( just the DOP )

"I wish" Ha Ha.

I agree, there are some editing issues that could be worked out. Currently the editor is working on splicing together scene 2, which is a boot camp scene. I think when you see the other scenes in conjunction with the wise guys things will fall together much smoother.

The intention of the film is to have 3 wishes, with 3 different scenario. We shot all of those scenes, with intent of making a complete. With the competition, we needed a story which could be told in under 5, so some serious editing was done.

We will post the boot camp scene as soon as it is complete.
Thanks again for the advice

As I promised, when we got a new cut of the film out I would post a link out for you.
Well We have added a new scene. ( The Directors Cut )

one note, the credits at the end get cut, we are aware of this and will be working to correct this soon.

Thanks, and Enjoy
