Do I have the right Equipment for HVX?

I was wondering if I purchased a HVX200 would I have the right equipment? Basically I want to know if my computer is good for DVCPRO50?

I have:

Apple G5 (not intel) with 2 GB of RAM and 650 GB of Hard Drive.

I just want to make sure I will be able to edit the HVX footage with not much problem (I typically edit HDV)

Also, I was wondering what would be a good temporary solution for recording? I dont want to use firestore or DV. What is the cheapest laptop I could get that would work for direct record? Thanks.

Which G5? DP 2.5, 2.0 or what?

And you do need a boot drive dedicated to video.

Which version of OS and FCP?

DVCPro50 is substantially less demanding than HDV.

Sorry I need to make correct my self, I meant DVCPro HD. so in that regards, how does my system hold up? I got a G5 2.0 GHz. and I have one hard drive (400GB) dedicated to only video. FCP 5.1 and OSX 10.4.8 What are some other alternative for shooting? And what is the cheapest laptop that will work for shooting directly to it via firewire? Thanks.
