Anyone get their free P2 card yet?

Hi,

This may be your understanding of what they said, but the serial number verification is an excel spreadsheet and is the number is on there or not, this is not complicated. The complicated part of it was in the Audit. This is where we had to request the Invoice. This was time consuming.

We have processed at this point over 1100 claims, with another 500 pending as of today. And yes it does take time to verify claims because not all claims are complete when initially sent in, or numbers are transposed. As an example there are three claims that are matching with three other claims with the same serial number. Why is that? In general there is a rational reson, but it all as to be hunted down. This is part of the process, you have to investigate each of these. Then there are the incomplete serial numbers, the PO Box only addresses, or the missing zip codes. It is a detail oriented job and to say it should take a lot of time, is simply not true. Maybe if everything was perfect it might be, but a good 20-30% have missing information or misinformation. And this does not address the time required to be spent with the customer that has purchased gray market product, and feels that he should get a card anyhow.

Anyhow these will all work through the system. Everyone that qualifies will get their P2 card.

Hope this helps,

Jan

I ask why not get a few interns assigned to the department? Speed up the process? If all of this has to be done with the auditing team then why not explain to them that urgency and ask them to send a few more of their interns or lower wage employees... tell them to bill you for it. Two people making less than 1k a week plus their hotels and plane tickets would be worth avoiding threads like this. I'd be able to organize the whole thing so we'd be able to audit and solve every single request in one week. Just get a few young driven kids, (as I used to be) and they'll turn it right side up following protocol in no time. Oh! coffee.... lots of it! :)

I am going to be tracking mine as soon as it sets sail from Menphis Monday... I guess 4 days making it Thursday 22th. from December 29th: 7 weeks 6 days...

Not 8 weeks, but still completely wrong. Something should be done for us... maybe a discount coupon of 10% for a second 8G or maybe also valid for 16Gs

anyone agree with me?

You guys and your lousy free cards! When I was your age, sorta, we waited six months after paying for an HVX to get the camera, and no free P2! And we were damn glad! Only 8 weeks and you want MORE!?!?!?!?!?

Just wanted to publicly say thanks to Jan and to Michelle at ACB. I received my P2 card on Friday. (Anyone looking to buy one, it's for sale, unopened and pristine... we are using the Firestore...)

Also, FWIW, Michelle said they had only a few P2 cards left when mine was shipped, but they expected more the end of this week or early next.

I do agree that ACB should get it together to process these more quickly, and I think the idea of interns (or even temps!) to handle some of the brainless work (receiving and scanning the invoices or whatever) is a good idea.

Likewise, there should be a process such that if ACB gets an online submission but no invoice within a certain period, they should be emailing people rather than waiting for them to call and complain. I know that my invoice was lost, most likely at their end, and several other people have had the same experience. I don't think the postal service is that unreliable at delivering first class mail.

Lastly, don't believe them when they tell you that the 6 week (or 12 week, whatever it is now) period starts from when the invoice is posted. Jan's exact words in her PM to me were " The day that your paper work is complete is the day it gets to move forward." In my case, I faxed the invoice, and they shiipped the next day. But that could also be because I was pesky and persistent.

I have been trying to register since last Friday but the rebate web form will not accept my serial # (not valid or already registered). A phone call indicated that the serial #s are not in the database because the cameras just arrived from Japan.

More delay...

I got mine today.

I got mine today.

Applied for the rebate on 12/13, it was processed on 12/15. Just over 8 weeks. Thanks panasonic!!

Ordered my HVX200 (B&H Photo, great place) the last week of December, 2006, received it first week of January, requested rebate online Jan 9, Processed Jan. 12, received 8 gig P2 card along with Barry Green's HVX book last week, just about one month wait time.

Great book, Barry. Lots of questions answered and lots of useful information.

ACB site still says "fullfillment in process."

Hi,

I don't want to harp on things but if it were me sending in to get an expensive reward, I would send it by some traceable method. So I do encourage registered or certified mail or an overnight method. I don't believe that ACB loses these things, I do know that USPS does. They lose things for me all the time.

Additionally, things can get confusing when you have two names like Crittenden and Livingston and you claim with one and inquire with another. And no, ACB will not go searching for applications that do not show up in a certain amount of time. I will ask them to offer a status that says some different level of waiting while the invoice arrives. Keep in mind this entire promotion only lasts till the end of March. ;-)

Best regards,

Jan

On 2/12/07, after numerous calls, emails, and faxes ACB said:

'Your invoice has been received and placed into be processed. Nothing else is needed.'

Coming up on 9 weeks...

Fair enough. That's our bad, but I know we weren't the only ones that had that problem with ACB. I will certainly use overnight mail or UPS or certified mail next time I have to send anything to ACB :)

Additionally, things can get confusing when you have two names like Crittenden and Livingston and you claim with one and inquire with another.

I did tell them when I called that the rebate request could be either in my nickname (Chip) or my given name, and they found the reference number immediately. If they couldn't match up the invoice with the rebate request because of that difference, even when Michelle looked through everything, that's pretty sad, given that the receipt had a matching surname, matching address, and matching serial number to the online application.

I will ask them to offer a status that says some different level of waiting while the invoice arrives.

That would be a major improvement. I think the majority of the problems from the beginning have just been a series of unclear communications... but hopefully everyone, from ACB to Panasonic to the end users, will benefit from the experiences this time so that whenever Panasonic offers another fabulous deal, it will be smoother for everyone.

P2 Arrived

P2 Arrived

Greetings HVX'ers,

After a long wait, a series of miscommunications, disinformation, the P2 card has arrived.

Request 12/14
Processed 12/15
Arrived 2/20

I do feel at this point that the enemy is false expectation. When one plans to either make capital or has a lot of money riding on a film shoot this behavior is unacceptable. ACB did a very poor job and those at Panasonic who have the power to review their dealings with them should take these complaints to heart. I hope next time, if there is a next time, things are much smoother. If we know it’s going to take over 2 months we can then plan and anticipate. With disinformation it hurts us in the pocketbook and reputation because we plan around it. Once again this was a completely unprofessional experience.

Sincerely,
Dore

I have shipped over 50 packages by USPS in the last year. Didn't lose a single one. I doubt ALL these problems are USPS's fault, let alone even a few.... ACB has the poor track record here, not USPS.

By the way, it has been 4 business days now and I still can't even register because of the following error.
  • This serial number does not exist or it has been used already.
When will this be fixed? Last Friday the person on the phone said 48 hours. Is this USPS's fault also <chuckle>?

Got it! Finally, after 8 weeks it showed up via UPS.

Now that I use the FS100 for about everything I don't even know if I need the card.

Anyone interested in buying it? I also have 2 4Gig cards.

Are you guys getting notice of shipment? I see many dates, similiar to mine starting to get theirs... I'm getting antsy.
