Hi everyone,

I posted a small web version of my short up on the boards a few months ago, but now there's a DVD available on our website. The DVD is $9.99 and all the money goes towards film festival submission fees:

Synopsis: On a winter night in New York City, an average guy, Henry (Seth Fisher), wanders into an upscale wine bar looking for a beer. Obviously out of place, Henry innocently offends both the snooty Bartender (William Sadler) and Evelyn (Tessa Klein), the pretty young woman quietly reading next to him. When Steven (Ryan Young), Evelyn’s hotheaded boyfriend, comes in looking for a fight, Henry decides to take matters into his own hands. The Wine Bar is a short comedy about saying what you mean and not judging a book by its cover.

The Wine Bar was shot last summer on the HVX-200 and the Mini35 lens adapter. It was shot over one long night at a local wine bar in the heart of New York City's East Village. I edited the short in about 4 weeks using Final Cut Pro and we did the final output to HDCAM. So far, our short has been accepted into 12 film festivals and we're still waiting to hear back on many others.

The website has a lot of behind the scenes stills as well as info on the production and news about the film festivals and screenings.

Thanks for taking a look!

probably asked him :)

I talked to him in the subway last time i was in NY. although I was a little star struck and stuttered a lot. But he was really nice and said he looked forward to working with me one day. YOU HEARD IT HERE!

Our lead was in a Broadway show with him...they hit it off and are good friends...he's a great guy and was really amazing to work with.

We're hitting him up to be in the feature that we're shooting this fall...

I downloaded this a long time ago and have watched it about 3 times.

Congrats on the festival acceptance.

I LOVE this movie (and so does my wife). I had it passed to be by a friend. Very good acting, engaging story & characters... terrific.

My only beef is when Seth's character orders something "Dark like a Stout," then changes his mind to an Ale, and then orders a Pabst Blue Ribbon. How do you go from an Oatmeal Stout to Pabst Blue Ribbon which is a pale lager, not an ale? It gets the point across, but he didn't seem to know his beers too well...

The point was that he doesn't know his beers too well...it's his way of showing off, asking for an oatmeal stout but ending up at a PBR...

Glad you like the movie though!

Just wanted to give everybody an update...The Wine Bar recently won some festivals:

Best Comedy Short Film - The Gem City Film Festival
Audience Award - The Omaha Film Festival
Best Narrative - The Carolina Film Festival

Thanks to everyone for their support!

Nice work on the recent awards. I thought The Wine Bar was a great little film. It had some funny moments but I never thought of it as a comedy. A textbook example of excellent filmmaking yes, but I never would have described it as a comedy.

Huh...I always thought of it as a comedy, not in a typical Jim Carrey kind of way...I guess it's all subjective but we definitely wrote it to be a comedy...

And thanks for the "excellent filmmaking" thing...

Maybe a comedy with dry humor....nope, I still don't see it that way. But what do I know? It won a Best Comedy award. Maybe I need to have my funny bone tuned.

One thing that set The Wine Bar apart was the editing I think, an area that's often weak in other short films.
