need help repairing corrupt mxf files

i'm currently importing P2 footage from hard disks into final cut pro 5.1.2, converting to quicktime. have run into problems with a couple p2 clips. all runs smoothly then the image cuts to grey while the audio continues running to end of clip. it's not possible to import even the intact video footage. tried putting in end points, but no matter what each time i try and import, the system crashes. tried repairing clip with p2 log, but doesn't help. anyone run into this 'cutting to grey'? please help!

Have you tried copying the CONTENTS folder and LASTCLIP.TXT file back to a P2 card and letting the camera repair it?
 
If P2 Log can't repair it, I extremely doubt that the camera itself can. More than likely this is yet another example of card contents getting glitched when using a Mac to copy the cards over.
 
Is it a long file (larger than 2 GB?) most likely your using a drive formatted FAT32.. Try importing it to you MAC INTERNAL HD, or format an external drive for MAC.
 
FAT32 limits file sizes to 4GB, not 2GB. And since all P2 cards use FAT32, it doesn't matter whether the file is under 2GB or not.
