Hey guys,
I am mid way through the pre-produciton stage for a short horror movie I am doing called "House of Pain". This is being shot in April, in Niagara Falls, ON, over one weekend.
the story:
A group of friends go to Niagara Falls for a vegas style weekend wedding. While there, they purchase tickets for a haunted/fun house, and quickly discover that it is more than it appears to be.
I am doing my first casting call on the 24th of february, and i am very excited and scared all at the same time.
We will be shooting on an XL2 and an XL H1, SD, DV.
Sound will likely be recoreded to the cameras via wireless mics.
The budget is under $1000, and is being shot on location, yes the real locations as we have received permission from all the necessary locations in niagara. Hotel, Sky wheel (ferris wheel), Midway (arcade), and finally, Nightmares Fear Factory (haunted house).
I am the writer/director/producer, the rest of the crew is made up of working professionals and recent grads. Everyone is working on this as a credit/expereince project. Being a short its not likely to make money, but with enough prep and hard work, can be a decent short with great exposure for all involved.
I might cut it as a 22 min piece if good enough, then see what happens with the T.V. route.
I'll be providing updates regularly here and answer any questions i can.
