Access Violations when dragging in MXF files

Hey everyone, I just started using the HVX, and I've been working with Avid Xpress Pro HD 5.6. I used the method of import perscribed in the sticky, but sometimes Avid has an Access Violation and I have to Cntrl-Alt-Delete to close down. Has this happened to anyone else? I am editing in a 720P 23.97 project. Thanks.

I've never had a problem. You're pulling them from Media tool, and you're only pulling the master clips?

Also what is the rest of the Access Violation error?

Yep, only the master clips. I'll replicate it in a bit, and post the entire error.

Ok, here goes.

An ACCESS_VIOLATION exception occured. For more information see the error log: C:\Program Files\Avid\Avid Xpress Pro\Avid FatalErrorReports\Exception_2007.02.09_13.08.16

Another error pops up after hitting OK on the above one:

Exception: Structured Exception, ExceptionCode:0xc0000005, ExceptionString:ACCESS_VIOLATION, FaultAddress:0xbb7e5c8, MiniDumpFileName:1d4e428b-f952-411e-b4be-51955d750ed9.dmp

For more information see the error log: C:\Program Files\Avid\Avid Xpress Pro\Avid FatalErrorReports\Exception_2007.02.09_13.08.16

Can you browse to that and post the contents of that error log for me?

Edit to add: Something while we're waiting. Did you have Avid open when you copied the P2 files into the MXF directory?

I think I fixed it. I had simple file sharing ON when I copied the files into my drive. I turned it off and set the permissions right, and it seems to be working fine. I'll let you know if it happens again.

I'm glad you figured that out because that's wasn't even on my radar screen. :)

Happy editing.
