HVX - Race Footage

I DPed and Operated infield camera for race footage for Short Track movie, a film by Marie Hopkins.

I was just playing around with some of the footage and thought I'd share... There is some CC work, but this is not final CC.

This is just the stock HVX lens.

If Marie chooses to go with something like the Temp music, she'll have the composer work something out.

I guess it is the comptression in combination with the motionblur, but some shots look soft to me. I am sure it looks fabulous on a big screen. You can feel the speed and nice colours , too.

It had 2 levels of FCP CC and 1 Magic bullet.

It was fairly dark on location so we had to shoot at 6-12 on the gain depending on location. I personally was never able to do better than 9db on the gain.

Cool new preview! loved the introduction to the film as well. I havent heard anything from Marie in a while, do I have a premiere party to look foreward to at some point? I'll fly anywhere for that!

Hey Tom,

We're currently working on the trailer. Marie is going to have a premiere party and some hip slick place down in Hollywood I think? No date set, but I know something is in the works.
