Intros to my skate video (NOTE: mostly animation)

They both kick arse. Very nicely done. After Effects??

If I was picking between the two, I'd go with the first one. The music seemed to fit MUCH better with the video. Good cuts with the beat, too.

On another note, it's too long for an intro IMO... I'd cut it down considerably. Maybe try another cut where it's shortened by about half, and throw that up there for us to pick from.

thanks for the opinion, yes i like the first one better as well, but a lot of people are saying the second so im just trying to get some real opinions. and yes it was after effects (and some imovie believe it or not haha)

you've got some skills in after effects, but some of that stuff needs to be thought out a lot more. you had good movements and animations, but it didnt seem to flow. i.e. the chalkboard going right into a cemetary place with the cheezy lighting bolt. i think you should put a little more effort into the pace of the animations, and what it has to do with your subject matter. the city/leaf thing was tight, maybe you should elaborate more on that. as for the two songs, use the first one (i used that aphex twin song in a snowboard edit already! haha)

anyway, keep up the good work!

yeah, well i was trying to keep it "random" that was the whole point to it... I also didn't want it to be longer than it already was... as for the lightning bolt... it was more of a scratch/crack thing in the chalkboard, and then it zooms through to a cemetery with "love" in the crypt, because love park is now dead.... idk i was just trying to keep it "random" hence the name rhandom skate... its not really supposed to tell a story or make sense... but i definitely see what you're saying... if it wasn't just an intro id definitely get more detailed into it, and make it all relevant to eachother?... but i was just trying to do something different... good criticism keep it coming!

cool stuff, I agree that the 1st one matched the song better.

I personally am a big fan of "random" things lol. being the spontanous person I am.

I also think it feels a bit long. If I was you I would find a way to incorporate more clips of skateboarding earlier on in the intro. mix it up a bit, maybe alternate between animation and skate. Not sure if it will work with what you have but if you can pull it off, I think it will give the viewer more of an idea of what they are about to watch. especially since its an intro to a skate vid I would imagine people would be eager to see some skating in the intro earlier on.

hope im making sense, its 6:53 am and i haven't slept yet lol. well, thats my 2 cents.

but yea if i had to choose between the 2, I would choose the 1st one.

Hehe nice, I used the Leaf / City wallpaper a while ago too  - I agree with rhandomskate on this one, nothing to elaborate on.
