Uprezzing DVCPRO 50

Where are you guys getting the info on this cam? I see a HPX2000, but no HPX500.

There have been some PDFs and press releases on the Japanese website, and I thought Jan confirmed that it would be shown in the US at NAB in April.

Base on the specs I have seen posted in the forums here, it looks a lot like the HPX2000. And I am assuming based on the HPX2000 placement on the Panny website it will be between $25k-$35k. So why the big price difference bewtween the HPX2000 and the HPX500 (upwards of $10-15k)?

To me, the uprezzed dv50 looks worse than regular dv50. What was you workflow?

Well yea. Upressed anyhting will look worse than the origional footage.

Remember, there is more to a proper uprezz than resizing. Teranex has a lot of options. Remember, the HVX is native 960X540, less than a PAL XL2, but they get great looking 720P and good 1080 out of it. No reason to argue that the same cant be done post acquisition. It generally is much more expensive though.
