Life is Good - A Jeremy Hyler Film

I laughed, but I kind of knew in my gut the moment I saw you had a film in here, that it was probably going to resemble a big ol' middle finger at the festival in general & the rules. And ... I was right. :violent5:

I don't think he was giving our fest the finger norm. I think he was simply having fun.

Spidey has already established himself as a filmmaker with the chops and funny enough, this film is still places around the Top 5

thanks john im glad you enjoy it and see that :) I bascially wanted to make a movie that people can enjoy but you see the elments are there everyone is named eric the word eric is seen its said and its a about tragedy in life that could happen to anyone of us.

Well, I'd be curious to hear your HONEST opinion on what motivated you to finally make the film for the fest, and what your REAL meanings were behind the film, but I don't expect you to come clean in here ... at least not publically.

The reason I'm also thinking this is because you're going against what you were standing for in HorrorFest, which is the use of banners or quotes in your signature. Both you & your partner were hard up against using quotes, but I see you've got a BUNCH of them in your signature now.

So that's why it looks to me (the eye of the beholder, so to speak), that this is all the 'middle finger' approach.

But please, tell me I'm wrong, if I'm wrong. Regardless, it's humerous.

Don't get me wrong, John, he's SUPER talented, as proven with CPU, etc. But when he stated in another thread that he threw it together in 4 hours...

But who cares, I laughed. Just something I noticed & wanted to bring up, no big deal.

I made the movie, to make people have good laugh, or cry or to make people question it just like you have now. I did the quote things becuase im surprised with the response and surprises no one else have done it, I just figure people would be doing it too. ill take it down if you want i dont mind at all.

its in all the right elements and in the rules. and if i was able to entertain just one person then i think i was successful. I made it for fun but i made it for my fans and friends.

hahahaha...ahhh yes. i was entertained. and i laughed...it was actually the line "cut me a break" that threw me clean over the edge man. haha, lord knows i've been there. why just the other day-- well, you've already ddesribed it.
a much needed laugh. and "fin" ahhh man.

thanks
evan

Absolutely do NOT remove them. They're great, and I think it's all in fun ... I just noticed it was in stark contrast to your stance in the last fest, that's all. No big deal, whatsoever. Leave 'em up!

ok thanks.

I did take it serious you can see other seem to have enjoyed it.

I havent had a bad complaint.

I didn't review it because I felt you were basically snubbing your nose at those that chose to make a serious attempt to put themselves out there and take Jarred and Barry_S's challenge seriously. How's that for a complaint.

no i did the rules Just people can make different movies. if i made an action film i would have something different. becuase i like to make different things all movies are different yes this is a funny film but its fits. if anyone else did would be viewed differently, I know im not the most like person here, but i do like to make movies for my fans and friends, people kpt asking me to make one and this all i had time to do. I have school work and im broke, what more you want?

Thats fine, but i wasnt. but as i pointed out in this thread you see what you want to see. but I have had a rough year (illness surgery) and I didnt want to make one, but i was asked to so what ever. you try to come up with a movie when the sun is going down on the last day of the comp.

I go to school, 6 classes Middle Age Studies Japanese studies Critic writing for fim and TV Media Writing Intro to Film (my 4th time taking that class Ugh) and aestetics of film. 19 hours a week then I go to work, then i come on to sleep which i live and hour away from work and school. so i think my days are spent working so yea i made this movie in my SPARE time....

at least i submitted and I have made people happy. to those people they are my supporters and friends and thank you and I hope to enter another or move on either way I am happy with what I made.

Barry, introducing a screening process is a great idea. There are a few films in this fest that imo should not be part of it.
