Hey guys.
I picked up my new 28mm pentax f.2.8 lens yesterday and shot some on my
porch again(maybe get out tomorrow). Darkness was on its way but I had just
enough light to shoot at f. 2.8 and 1/120, and 1/60 shutter.
Here are some grabs:

Thanks!
You can buy the adapter from a british chap with the name Wayne Kinney, http://www.sgpro.co.uk, great service! I think the light loss is at about one stop. Last time I checked the price for the adapter with rails and lens mount was at 450 pounds sterling. I make love to the sgpro every day and it treats me back with mutual loving.

hrmm, im curious to know why there is still such a shallow depth of field when your at 2.8 AND using a wide angle lens? I thought wide lenses had longer ?

It's because the kamera is pretty close to the objects I'm focusing on, when I'm further away from the objects(picture 3) the focus becomes less shallow.
Guess one could call it the macro effect.

Wow...those look great man! And yeah, I was about to say "these look kinda macro-ish". Definitely has the effect.

And I looked on the site, and it appears its only about 830 for the system (without lenses of course) which isn't bad at all.

Thanks dude. Hey Wayne, I remember something about you working on a follow
focus for the sgpro, is that in progress?

-cheers.

We have put the follow focus project on hold for the time being until we are 100% happy with the smooth running of the SGpro's manufacturing process (suppliers etc).

All has been going very well recently so we maybe continuing the project soon.

Goes to show how narrow the DOF is on 35mm size lenses. With a 55mm F1.2 At 8 feet, the DOF is 2 inches.

Are rails pretty much a necessity for any amount of SGPro shooting? And if so, is it still possible to do some handheld style shooting with rails, perhaps using a Spiderbrace to help support the camera? This is a DVX I'm talking about.

Basically, I find myself torn between the quality of the images I'm seeing out of the SGPro and the portability of the Brevis.

The SGpro handles bueautifully on rails, with a spiderbrace. it feels like an Aaton S16mm Camera.

Timur,

Which Aaton S16mm camera were you referring to? I'm gonna assume it's the A-Minima since it looks similar to an Canon XL/JVC type of cameras (actually, even smaller)!

Have you handled one before?

I still haven't used my sgpro on a tripod yet, only handheld and spiderbrace from
time to time. So it's definately doable :)

yea they shot a S16 film at my Uncles dance studio a coule years ago, i talked to the DP, he said it was an Aaton. And it sits on the shoulder really tight and compact. and has two small handles to grip with.

I sadly have not shot with that cmaera. i look forward to it though.
