I'm excited to enter my first DVXuser festival. Made this short for a class I'm taking and decided to enter it to get some critiques from fellow filmmakers. Hope you guys like it!

WOW! This is the latest I've ever seen someone enter!

Great!

Welcome and Congrats!

Good for you. I like the poster. (I've been there before!)

Good luck to you!

uploaded! Although, just the webversion. Couldn't get my MPEG 2 out properly in the proper AR.

Theodore, didn't think I'd be entering. The film is due next week for class, but I finished early. First assignment I've ever finished early. Feels weird...

yeah, wow. last minute, more or less. good luck!!

anyway, goodnight all. it's almost midnight here in the EST, right Ted? time for bed. it feels like Christmas Eve . . .

Congrats on entering. I think voting will begin when they get all the movies sorted out, probably Saturday or Sunday. Hopefully not Monday (I don't think I can wait that long to see the movies). Best of luck to you.

I like this shot:

THis is REALLY REALLY Good. I Think youre gonna be the sleeper hit of the fest. :)

Seriously watched it again. IT had a nice mix of comical/absurdity, that defaulted the VO. Without the Jumping jacks, and crunches, it woulda come across as Cliche, but thoes choices really helped it along. I was really pleased with this one. Great work.

(Beatifully shot too) G35? Go35?

It was shot with the Letus35 beta (I call it "The Tin Can"), but I also shot some of it without because there wasn't enough light... you'll probably notice that there was some grain with the non-adapter shots as there wasn't even enough light for the DVX itself.

Glad you enjoyed it, Timur! Downloading "Katrina" as I type this.

REVIEW: WASTED

Aw, she should stop drinking.

I, personally, see this is another excerpt piece. Exposing the inner conflict with having what could be considered a physical and mental illness. I don't really feel like it's a narrative, but that's probably just me.

However, for what it feels like, it's some really sad stuff. A lot of us can relate to alcoholism because it's so rampant in the world. Not just the U.S, but everywhere. I am not a drinker, I'm twenty-four and I've only "drank" once in my life... that was at age twenty-three... but I do know a lot of people tha thave been affected by such a thing.

I think if I showed this to my girlfriend, I'd have to deal with her tears. So, I won't!

That running shot was very nice, by the way. Oh, and well paced.

I didn't want to make a full on narrative because of the 6 min time limit. It's hard making a well-structured 6 min narrative that doesn't leave the viewer un-satisfied.

Alcoholism is rampant and is hard pressed in many peoples lives (when they don't even know it). But I just wanted to make a film about wasting time because that's a personal problem of mine :P

I liked this one Lloyd. I loved the Voice Over, the dialogue was very well written, witty and some what sad. I've known a few abusers in the past and this one feels very real to me.

Yes some of the shots were grainy but for the most part it looked good to me... maybe a little lo-fi but I liked the look.

You obviously didn't waste too much time on this, this was time well spent.

I thought this short was def one of the better ones in the fest so far. It started off a little slow for me but once she started off on her run I was hooked. It did a really good job of mixing comic and seriousness and actually reminded me a lot of Charlie Brown. Great job and really enjoyable.

i used to definitely be related to this, although alcoholism is not always a part of wasting time, i know alot of people that don't drink and who also think like her.
including myself.
Alcohol is just used as an excuse for wasting time, you give it up and time is still wasted. :oS
