Interesting visit to Spec Comm

I have been so tempted to buy an HVX, read all the pro and cons, all reviews, the only thing missing was to put my hands on one for a bit.
I live in western Maryland and I discovered that Spec Comm is located 8 miles from my house. So this morning I decided to pop in hoping they might have a showroom of some sort, so I could look the HVX over without bothering anyone. No luck but I mentioned to the receptionist I was an amateur interested to look at the HVX, half expecting they will send me packing. Well no!, next thing Andrew Hoffman came out with the HVX and let me play with it for quite a bit while answering all my questions. This should be a no big deal experience except that in the days where services in general are flirting with mediocrity, I am always amazed to discover someplace where you get treated nicely.
Now I just need the green light from the CFO and I shall heading up the highway again.
Cheers
Patrick

I just got my HVX from Spec Comm this week - and I can say it was a great experience - nice people, good attention, good deal, and actually got my camera a day sooner than I expected it. Based on this first experience, I'll definitely deal with them again.

I got my HVX200 from Specialized Communicaions last week and have been playing with and learning it. Yes, the folks at Spec-Comm are very helpful and very pleasent to do business with.

When I registered my camera on the Panasonic site for the rebate, it says that you must send in the original invoice, not a copy. So I called and asked Jasmine for a fresh invoice and it arrived today. The purchase includes two extra 5-6 hour batteries so it's really hard to beat them as an Authorized Panasonic dealer.

I've been buying from Specialized for about seven months now. Great customer service! I initially bought an HVX from them, but have since bought other products from them as well.

I Bought my HVX a year ago from Spec Comm. Jasmine was always on the ball. Good people to deal with.

Thanks for all of the kind words. I had everyone here read this thread to show them that all of this hard work pays off in the end.

Patrick,

It was a pleasure. :)

Best regards,

Andrew Hoffman

Just wanted to add a few words, y'all...I bought my HVX from Spec-Comm also, and subsequently my P2 cards as well, and have nothing but good things to say about the experience. Delivery time was within half a week in both instances and Jasmine was a pleasure to talk to, very on the ball as esperman said.

Never heard a bad word about Spec comm. Wish I lived in the states 8miles from them to be honest. Plus you always have Andrew around here to lend a hand, even when theres nothing in it for him ( i have seen this numerous times).

Got my HVX from them, so happy awaiting my 8GB P2 card but that's in panny's hands. Costomer support there is incredible, you actually get to deal with helpful, real people.

Yes i know it is awfully tempting to have this ressource so close at hand, I felt I could go back if I had more questions, but I do not want to be a pest . One thing is for sure after the visit I am convinced that buying from a place where the personel is so friendly and personable surely beat getting the HVX unseen from an internet place. You can be sure that my next cam will come from there, plus I have to take Andrew on his offer of a cuppa.
Cheers

Got my HVX there too, Jasmine was a great help, even helped a dork like me make sure I put in the right code for my P2 rebate.

Charli,

You aren't a dork! You have a $1200 P2 card weighing in the balance. You don't want to be without that P2 magic! :)

I'm glad to hear that you're happy.

Best regards,

Andrew Hoffman

Adding to the love fest here. I bought two hvx's and accessories from spec. Couldn't be happier with the level of service, and individual attention. And prices to boot.

Ok i'm convinced. I will be purchasing my HVX camera next week. I had originally planned on purchasing it from B&H, NY. I bought about $38k of equipment from them 8 years ago. Good prices but my only complaint was that when I had a couple issues (one item didn't ship, one was defective) I called B&H and was transferred to "customer service". The 10th time I called them was just like the first...I was transferred to a recording where I had to leave a message just for NOBODY to called me back for days.

After reading all these posts lately about Spec-Comm and their great service, I've decided to purchase my HVX from them!!

The two free batteries just sweetens the deal.

Thanks again guys!

Rip up the Highway, We'll look for your call. Ask for Jasmine Reed.

Just to throw my .02 cents in the mix. I just came from Spec-Comm on Friday. I called them up that morning because I really needed to get my heads cleaned. When I spoke with them they said that they could get me in and out the same day. When I got out there I was helped by the receptionist at the front desk. I believe her name was emily. She took my camera then offered me something to drink. A couple of seconds later she came back with a bottle of water.

As I was sitting on the couch waiting for my camera to get cleaned every person that crossed my path asked If I had been helped and if I needed anything.

A little later Andrew was walking by and introduced himself and offered me a tour of the facility and we talked it up for a little bit. Soon afterwards my camera was ready and I was on my way.

The entire staff at Spec-Comm is very polite and courteous and I would definitely recommend them to everyone I know.
