And thank you for the honor.... we like being near the top of your list. I can tell you, I am excited as all heck to see yours! Going to be tough to decide which of your two I view first!

Thanks!

You are a sweetie. :love4: Both are very different stories and I am proud to have been a part of each film.

Well, Tim and Mark are on the way back up the hill. We shared a bottle of vino to celebrate. Let the games begin.

I've been pimping your film for awhile here in jax.... it WILL be seen by many..better be good MR :)

VINO thats what I need right now. I can't believe I did not work today... I could not walk away from the computer reading and learning about everyone else's entry.

Well, considering the size of this thread, it's a hell of a buildup to live up to, but I think the guys did a pretty good job. Of course, the proof's in the puddin'. Hope you enjoy it.

I hope you drank a glass for me too. After all the last minute drama, I could use a drink (or two)!

Really looking forward to seeing all the entries in this fest.

This is like the day before Christmas. I am so much anticipating seeing these shorts. Threading the Needle was such a marvelous adventure. Of course, it's no CORSAIRS, but it does have airplanes and coffee cups.

Due to all of the VFX work, etc. that's gone into this, I'm already anticipating this one to have the biggest cinematic presense, if for no other reason than the locations & things you can bring into it that others may not have been able to. Really looking forward to it.

You have no idea how hard it is not to start looking at these films that are parked on my server, lol (mine is one of the mirror sites). Ohhhhh, the temptation....

Hang on everyone...... I just got off the phone with CA and I am told that within minutes we'll be uploaded.

AWESOME!!! I can't wait to see it! :2vrolijk_08: Is it gonna be linked in this thread? I'm not sure how these things work.

John-boy! I miss you man!

Miss you too, man. But in a brotherly way. Not in a... you know... :love4: kinda way. (Sorry, I like to try and find excuses to use smiles.) Tell your wife Happy belated birthday for me, would ya?!?

What an incredible journey.

I want to thank you all for the kind words and support, and the many visits and posts to this thread. We have had such tremendous support from you all. It has been as much fun to maintain this thread and read your comments as it has been to make this film. Thank you all.

I hope that you all enjoy the film.

Hey! Will do! (and yuck! of course in a brotherly way! But not those brothers who are... you know, funny.... in a funny sort of way!)

John, there will be a page that will list several servers that are hosting the films. You will download the films from there to view.

Tim (Slimothy) and I have basically been shuttling between Northern and Southern Cali spending most of our time on TTN. To pay the rent and feed ourselves, we've done three forensic shoots. It's been great to have Tim assist because it allows me to mount the camera on the windshield at the proper height and Tim runs the thing through the moon roof while I drive. This is a pic from the most recent shoot we did where we simulated the view of a motorcyclist who ran into a road grader. I have to mention how much I love my Hyson Films matte box (http://www.hysonfilms.com/). Joel also builds a follow focus that has an adjustable stop that is awesome for setting up repeatable rack focus pulls. Plus, Joel is an amazingly attentive vendor. This is an unsolicited plug for a really great DVX-er.

I think I've opened Tim's eyes a little bit about how one can fund filmmaking by being a little resourceful in unrelated fields. My forensic work has allowed me to accumulate most of my equipment and charge law firms for it (actually now making money by charging rental rates when I use the HVX or other gear). It got me wondering what sort of things other people do to make a buck with their hardware. I suspect there are all sorts of untapped markets that may be available in urban areas if we would all share ideas.

I have been trying othet a Hyson matte box for 5 months...... hemakes great looking products.

Theatrical Run

Theatrical Run

I am pleased to announce that Threading The Needle will get its theatrical debut for a limited engagement at the Mustang Theater (on the former site of the famous Mustang Ranch eight miles East of Reno Nevada). The film will be screened following the gospel services each Sunday during the month of February. Former prostitute-turned-ordained minister Bunny Moran learned of the film from a congregation member who is a DVXUSER member (name not revealed). Reverend Moran sought permission to screen the short as a means to draw a secular crowd to the services, the attendance of which has been flagging lately. The agreement was inked on behalf of the TTN crew by producer Blaine Golden, who is familiar with the area and locale.

We are now parked high in the hills at the sacred Chateau D'If. I want to extend many thanks to everyone who worked on this project; I'm sure everyone agrees that the experience gained is priceless. Cheers to everyone who helped and I look forward to the next "adventure."

I had such a good time gaffing and have to thank Kevin for the opportunity to come out and be a part of this film. I also need to thank Mark, Ted, and Blaine for having the confidence in me to edit, and I hope you guys enjoy the picture. Everyone on set contributed greatly in different areas and it is really great to be able to surround yourself with such a bright group of people.

Ted-You work so well with actors, sometimes it was hard to do my job because I was trying to pick up what you were putting down. Great job man.

Blaine-If it weren't for you I'd probably still be making movies with my friends and my dog. You really know how to keep a set going in the right direction, and your wine cellar rocks.

Kevin-People actually think I know what I'm doing, and I attribute this to your skills as a teacher among many other things. You da man. We need to hit some cool bars soon.

Bullis-If I ever need to fashion anything out of twigs and cotton swabs I will call you. You are the most resourceful person I have ever met.

Kyle & Alex-You guys need to get your arses out to Cali. Nebraska is for momos.

Briceman-If I ever need someone to keep me on track with my VFX, you'll be the first one I call! (I'll DEF. have that stuff for you EARLY this week.)

Herman-You have more talent in your cuticles than I do in my family tree.

Mark-Lets go get soem whiskey.

I have now been up for 34 hours, and the drinking shall commence.

Tim.
