X5 Snow Drifting Screen Grab

I decided to test out the camcorder filming a friend drifting in the snow. I noticed that the bright red tends to smudge. It's slightly smeared a bit more cause the screen grab is from the car in motion but if I watch the video back I can see the red tail lights smudging a bit. The third picture seems to show it the most.

What can I do to fix this? Would turning down Chroma Phase help?

bright colors period are going to block up and have problems...reds and oranges do seem especially bad though....its the downside of 4:1:1 color sampling. turning down your chroma levels will help and also u can use color smoothing in FCP or w/e ur editing on.

Any idea what the equivalent to color smoothing is in Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere/AfterAffects?

I had to use gain (9db on Open iris), otherwise the car would be absolutely dark. I don't have an onboard light so I worked with what I had.
