actual minutes for a 30min tv program?

Well tv programs in the us-NTSC use DF(drop frame) timecode. Which means every minute there are two frame counts dropped. Not actuall frames but just the counter. Except for every ten minutes. Just do some math and you'll find that a thiry minute show for tv isn't actually thirty minutes. Someone else will chime in for a more thourough X sooon. Anyways, I can't esplain too much right now as I have tri-tip about to burn YIKES!!!

YEp. These days, it's 22 and 42. Although some hour-long shows will run 44, 47, or even longer if on cable.

And all that includes Titles and Credits, too.

Seems like the DVX Fests are good practice. :)

I always remember it as 22, because there used to be some crappy "real time" tv show, and the timer always started at 22:00.

three years ago it hovered in the 24 min range...now 22 min. I suspect that in 4 years we'll be at 15 min.

Oh, and seasons used to be 26 episodes too...now 22 or 24. Or for the staggered shows (which I like) 8.
