editing in 24p/24pa on canopus

im getting ready to shoot a short with the 100a. im editing in canopus edius.
which setting would be better to shoot in 24p or 24pa.
and also if i shoot in squeeze mode, will the pic look that stretched/how would it look on the big screen, should i enter some stuff in some festivals.

I would move this to the Edius section, but it's not really an Edius question.

The answer is simple (despite the mountains of misinformation out there) -- if you're going to edit in 24p, then shoot 24pA. Always.

If you shoot squeeze, your NLE will handle it properly in a Widescreen project setting.
