ANOIR - an italian movie (90 min) with DVX100B and 35mm italian adapter

I prefer to shot in best sharp available, and, of course adjust this kind of "error" in post production!! (the frames are beta version, not the final postproduction!)

very very nice pictures & preview! i've just seen the wdr35.com website & it's seems there are two versions of it wdr35 wdr35 pro, can u tell us which one did you use?

Your film looks great--I love it from just looking at the stills. Hopefully, they'll be an english subtitled version. A very classic 50's/60's 16mm B&W European look along the line of la Nouvelle Vague.

Very Italian. Very nice. I spent a week in Bologna. Beautiful city. I'd love to shoot there, with the cool wall and piazzas. I shot a Godard inspired music video, planning to be in B+W as well. See what you think. Luv your stuff! Ciao!

Also, could you post some "before B+W" and "after" stills to show how it looked straight from the DVX? ThnX!

Nice to see manly chest hair is making a comeback. You have a great feel for black and white, not everyone can do this properly.
This is one of my favorite pieces on the site recently.. would love to see more video or screenshots.
Oh yeah the actor with the moustache has a great face for film, very photogenic. Casting is very important!

I love the look of this. The opening titles are beautiful and understated with a distinctly European touch.

The versions are small, so it's hard to tell, but I vote for grain based on what I saw there. It lends itself to the aesthetic. The puzzle sequence you posted is really stark, moody and I'm completely compelled to see more.

As an aside, I shave nearly every day and still get nervous each and every time I see someone doing so on film.

Gratzie!

For everyone that ask me in PVT about the 35mm adapter, WDR35, please check the website www.wdr35.com and contact the constructor!!!

Beautiful beautiful! One question, in the opening sequence, I see you slow motion the scene. Did you shoot interlace then slow mo it? I shoot 25 but when slow mo it starts getting blurry. Any tips?

The whole scene is really nice. Trippy, very clean, and great attention to detail.

I thought the CG was fine. I might like to see a little smoke rising from the impacts.

Really, very nice scene.

I shoot in progressive mode, with shutter 1/25.
No so much blurry... as you see!

1/25 not blurry, that's pretty good. Did you use 1/25 for the indoor scenes as I find adapters lose too much light and I tend to shoot 1/25 indoor. When you slow moed it, how slow did you get it to? 70% 80% or 90% maybe?

the opening titles... 60%!
I use 1/25 for all scenes... This reduce the 35mm Adapter Ground Glass grain and flick.
