Holy crap i just woke up....

Yea the lighting was the fun part. Aram and i worked up some diagrams, but as usualy things needed to be tweaked. i built a buncha lights for this projec tthat 450Watt china ball contraption was one of them, i also built a light gun, but it didint really work well, and we never used it. I conferred with aram, and we lit the set till we could reach an exposure at F2.8 on the 35mm lenses. this way as we switch back and forth between the lenses the exposure stays realtively the same. Aram the lighting ninja, took care of making it all happen on set, and kept everybody pretty.

EXCELLENT work aram. Excellent. He translated my vision into reality with dead accuracy.

Thanks homey, I tell you, them shots you took were steller and the focus was on point. I'm super excited to see this blown up. I might have to call in a favor in philly to get a night at a 300 seat theater.

...just woke up... bah, rub it in why don't ya.
I'm counting the seconds till i can go to sleep. :P

PS, you should post in the HVX screen grabs section to this thread with adapter mention.

have to warn you guys, I gave MsManhattan strict orders to break heads about Schedule on sat. We have a LOT to cover and I have to stick real close to the actors to keep the performances tuned. So she's going to let the dogs out on y'all to keep time.

You have to watch those sound guys with their long boom poles. I think that they sometimes stick chewing gum on the end of those poles to aid in stealing things out of reach!

A light gun??? Got a photo of that?

Really nice work, Timur. Can't wait for your film.

Its really exciting as a Cinematographer to be able to make the image look EXACTLY as you want it. luckily we have combined 3 peoples lighting kits, and we have the wattage, and Lumens to pull it all off. :)

And I'm excited as a director with cats like this on board not to have to think about that ****. If I could melt Timur and Aram into a single (though VERY ugly) creature, there's n telling what I could accomplish!!!!! Muhahahahahahaha!!!!

I have to concur with you there, Mark (about being the director). It was so frickin' great to have Kevin, Blaine and Tim on board to take care of making the pictures pretty. Wow. So different than my horrorfest entry were I often forgot that I had to act as well!!!

Really exciting stuff here.

Keep up the great work!

Oh, by the way... I am sure that it won't take someone long to put their photoshop wizardry to work and produce a sample of the Aram/Timur creature that you speak of!

yeah, it sounds terrible as a filmmaker, but I really am not that interested in lights and camera. I mean, I am very happy to have a really good DP and gaffer, so I can really just focus on actors and writing and getting the story across.

I guess it may sound terrible, but that is what they do (and they love it!). And the more that you can focus on the actors and getting the story across the better.

I really, REALLY loved not having to worry about the camera and lights. And it is funny.... not too long ago, I thought that I wanted to be the one BEHIND the camera. I don't think so anymore. Not as long as you have someone who can acheive the vision.

I kinda feel like throwing my dvx up on the marketplace and never touching it again!!!
