Envision & RebeccaD Present "Where Silence Falls"

Side note: Rebecca makes a grubbin' salad. She puts the freakest combination of things in it, but it all tastes great together. :thumbsup: Her family was kind enough to invite our family up to their house on the hill so we could send our kids sliding down the snowy street into traffic & parked cars ... we had a blast, lol! :grin:

I even thought I was going pretty fast once, until my 6-year-old passes me on the left hand side yelling "Bye dad!".

K, back to the BTS ... again ... still ...
 
Oh, trust me, it's coming together VERY nicely ... I think ... well, I hope that it's more than anyone's hoping for ... at least I'm digging it as I put it together. I'm also kind of blending a wee bit of TRINITY RIVER into it, so if it's good enough I may show it to some investors over the next couple of weeks, who knows.

On ANOTHER side note (I just have a lot of 'em lately), I just checked out ON THE LOT (that American Idol for filmmakers) because a friend just called a few minutes ago, and he's wanting to make sure I submit something (most likely it'd be this short, WHERE SILENCE FALLS). Anyway, HOW MANY TIMES ARE THEY GOING TO PUSH BACK THE DEADLINE?!?! Last I looked it had been extended to February 1st, now it's February 16th ... can they honestly not find enough good films to draw from?
 
I guess not... I was PLANNING on submitting a Smuggler's trailer, BUT, because I read they own the rights to theimages and audio submitted, we decided to pass on that... might submit our dramafest entry, though it's not very good :(
 
Every film I've seen so far on the 'On the Lot' website has been pretty bad. I didn't even know about the show until about two weeks ago. I think they maybe pushed the deadline to get more word out there about the show; plus they're airing commercial spots on it finally. No matter what, I really want to see who they choose to get on this show and I want to be able to view their submitted films online.
 
I've got beef against any and all reality shows. Filmaking or not. Speilberg or Lucas or M.Night. If people have talent.... others will find it regardless.

So.... Where do I sign up? :)

Lol! Yeah, it's a real danger out there... Glad you guys could stay for dinner too. I too am anxiously awaiting BTS, so hopefully its coming together nicely and something you can be happy with.
 
You should definitely submit 'Where Silence Falls'. A lot of my non-film friends have been checking out the 'On the Lot' site and they all say the same thing, "we see ten times better work coming out of those DVXuser fests you told us about".

What'd be really cool is if a few people from this community got on that show.

That would be so cool. Maybe the DVXusers could do this :kali: to the competition and make them go :cry:. Then Spielberg would have :love4: for us all. Seriously, though, I have not seen the rough edit or anything from our film, but I can say that it is a project I am very happy to have been a part of thus far.

HAHA! I seriously WANTED to submit a Smuggler's Trailer as it kicks butt of those films up there! But... no beuno if someone picks the film up... :cry: :kali:
 
Rebecca, you go girl! Wow, really packing in the smileys ... and using them in storyboard fashion too, lol.

I'm curious about the commercials, as I'm sure they show the worst of the stuff submitted, just like the worst auditions for American Idol. Though I doubt they would show the worst films on the internet, unless they're intentionally doing it to encourage as many as possible to enter, thinking they have a shot ... at least I guess it's what I'd do if I were them.

Justin, you'd better not have too much of a beef with the shows ... because I'll be asking for a seperate adjusted score for the 5 minute version of WHERE SILENCE FALLS to submit, assuming our final cut for DVXuser will go closer to the six minute mark. :grin:

There are several DVXusers here that should be entering & would have a SOLID chance of getting top 16 .... oh yeah, and they've all won the previous 3+ fests. :)

BTW, Rebecca, did you notice you're now a SENIOR member?? Wow, that didn't take long! Don't worry, I'm sure it has no reflection on your age. :grin:
 
Mhmm... I think anyone submitting a dramafest fick should submit a film... I think some from previous fests should submit as well...
 
Aiy-yi-yi, I've just kind of paced out the BTS so far ... I've got it solidly edited to the 3-4 minute mark, much of which is actual interview/commentary stuff I did in front of a blue screen (CHEAP lighting - I was lazy - and in my tight office, so it's not the most pro looking set up) .... anyway, with all the montage stuff as well, this puppy is threatening to be twice as long as the film ... wonder how many folks will actually want to sit through it.

Hope I can make it interesting enough!

I can barely think of a few, at dvxuser, that I'd wager a 1 Million budget on.
 
I think I could do something special with 1 MIL. But in their system, I don't know... I've seen PGL, and it scares me...
