My Tokyo angel - a SDC production

Sure thing. Will do. And thanks for the invite!

BTW, I DID wear a pair of the socks that you gave me for Christmas on a shoot and I am infact wearing a pair now!

Love them. They don't have any holes and are not stained with muck and blood!

Thanks again!

I fly out tomorrow at 6:30am and land in New Hampshire at 7:30pm. I will announce my safe arrival on Saturday!!!

Dropped you an email Charli. All shot lists, storyboards, production lists are finished !!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOHOOOO. Time to shoot this baby. I also added to the shot list a fairly detailed edit factor, so once its shot the editing is already written out. At the backend I wont have a great deal of time so wanted this organised and ready.

Would love to be ready to go for tomorrow however I am working at Tokyo Auto Salon http://www.e-autosalon.net/tokyo/english/index.html doing a press gig.

Guys, I'm really looking forward to seeing your project. This one is way up there on my personal buzz-meter and congrats to all of you for putting this together.

Charli, its so great you've got a script in production here. I'm excited to see your craft unleashed in a dramatic context. As I expect Ted related to you, we had precious little time or we would have happily slipped down to Santa Cruz. Ted was truly editing from sunup to way past sundown and it was a big deal for him to even get a couple hours to say hi to his brother who lives here in the bay area. Hopefully he'll be able to come out for our wrap/premiere party after the fest ends and you'll either be able to come up to L.G. or we can stop by down there to see you.

I also can indeed confirm that Ted wore your socks on set!

LOL @ Mark, that's cool about the socks. I really didn't want him to embarrass you on the set, seeing how cool you dress and all. Let me know when the premier is, I'll see if I can wing by and make it.

Theo - be safe going home. Hope all will be well.

Noel - I CAN'T WAIT to see what you got lined up. I am truly excited about this being my first INTERNATIONAL short. I love foreign films and I was hoping to hook up with someone out of this country to film a shoot. I love subtitled films so this is so freaking awesome.

btw - did you guys notice that my first short film here was the black ANGEL and the second short is my tokyo ANGEL... not that I have a theme going here or anything.

Charli,

I am very intrigued with the fact that you're apparently translating the script to Japanese for the shoot. I looked through the thread and didn't see the discussion on this. Not knowing your plot, is it going to be all Japanese? Will the final version be subtitled for DVXUSER? Forgive it this has been answered in a post I didn't see.

I'm not translating, Noel is translating. He's living in Tokyo and I think he rather enjoys an English conversation from time to time. The interesting thing about Japanese he told me was how important it is to get the tonal aspect right. I'll let him go into detail about that. We had discussed how one word was not translating properly and he gave me a couple of options. What an interesting language.

This film will be shot in Tokyo, in Japanese, with English subtitles. If he wings it just right in tone, there won't be a dry eye out in Tokyo.

I added a lot of subtlties, more in this story than in the last, I am really excited about the preproduction work Noel has put in, the rehersals, scouting locations, etc. Hopefully with all of this forethought, he'll be able to add those small nuances that really make a movie rock.

Thanks for the support Mark, Ted, Charli. Its late just finished a 15 hour day and desperate for a sleep. More soon.

Edited: Sorry was late :p

Slight set back today. FYI there are 4 actors in this short - the lead a male. Rehearsal tonight. Everyone arrived - great. My lead is no good - wait - yes, he is a great actor but is very sick - I ended up putting him in a Taxi home. I dont expect he can show this weekend at all and am thus in a desperate search for replacement. Will keep you posted on the progress, needless to say the phone has been busy over the last hour.

Never fear, Noel, when a door closes, a window opens (well, something like that). You will find a good, no, a great replacement!

Charli
