Hey.
I was visiting my friends new apartment today and desided to bring the camera along. Been trying to get the adjustments right lately and I think the images are starting to look pretty sharp. Of course, there wasn't a lot of light, but the sgpro did well, and lets not forget that the footie looks a lot less grainer than the grabs since the gg is spinning :) shutter speed: 1/60, f-stop: 1.8, 50mm pentax lens
No color correction, just flipped.

Update: I put together a clip and I played little bit with CC and magic bullet, it's in h.264 quicktime and it's 12mb big.

This SGpro revision 2 thing has the nicest looking bokeh yet. These grabs just convinced me even more. I have to get one of those... and I don't even have a camera.

i definately agree,

beautiful bokeh!

SGpro is so underrated. I didn't realize it til Timur pointed it out. I can't wait to get mines.

Looks good mang. Yea the Sg is the most Underrated adapter. Its Bokeh is simply unique. it looks like 35mm film Bokeh, solid and rich, with no ghost through residual image. other adapters that have good bokeh, like the mini 35 also lose 4 stops of light beacuse the GG is soooo thick. the Sg uses according to Wayne Kinney he creator "a magical GG" that loses only about a stop of light and still retains a beautiful bokeh, compressed lattitude ( which means a higher dynamic range looking picture), and is nearly resolution loss less.

i have shot stuff out doors at F16, and the lens wound up having a nearly infinite DOF. most people i showed it to, like Kholi, and Wayne himself, though the shot was with the naked camera lens. its that sharp..... For example, look at the textures in his beard i nthe first shot, and look at the texture in the brown suede of the shoes. Other adapters lose textures through the diffusion of the GG. Somehow this thing doesnt. i thin kits that the spinning GG is more "stable" than a vibrating one that scatters the light rays around. I think the spinning GG passes a fineer, but more regualr pattern of gg particles in fro t of the sensor. this way the very subtle textures get represented, instead of scattered apart by a vibrating adapter like a Brevis or Letus. thats my theory anyway.

Also, the Go35 has AMAZING sharpness and Bokeh. but its slightly more limiting because you can only stop the lens down to about F2.8 before static grain shows up. but if you want a run and gun lightweigh adapter, that will cut seemlessly with SGfootage, in terms of Sharpness and bokeh, the Go35 makes a great 2nd adapter.

Looks nice. Especially for low light. Dig the mirror shot. Any chance you could post a picture of your camera rig? How's that monitor?

For my rig I use a spiderbrace and the 7" lcd varizoom monitor. The montior is mounted on the front of the spiderbrace with a mount arm I bought so it's a little front heavy, but no biggie. I haven't had much experience with LCD monitors, but I was a little dissapointed with the varizoom, it's reolution makes it a little difficult pulling focus, but the more I use it the better I get. Cool! Thanks for posting those shots. Cool setup. Yeah, I bet that gets a little heavy. I have a kind of external monitor (not mountable - it's a cheap DVD tablet player I can hang on the tripod, and though it's nice and big at 7.5", the resolution is low for focusing.) Footage looks good. I'd like to see what you could do w/ some set lighting. I bet it will look killer. I'm planning to shoot with some kinoflos this weekend. I like those a lot. Cheers!

Looking forward to playing with some light as well, I'm doing a commercial with a friend soon who has the sgpro rev2 too and he has a bit of history with stilll photography so he will bring some lights. can't wait! And yes, kinflos are very nice, though I haven't been able to test any yet :(

Wow. That footage looks really, really, REALLY good.

What's the cost of the SGpro again??

Also, what's the black material over your lens and the adapter? was there a light leak somewhere?

SGpro baby. 900 with rails and special ground-glass. The 35mm Adapter World's best kept secret. I can't order mines til like another week or two, but bet I am.

The black material is gaffers tape, there are no leaks, I just use it to lock down the
focus and zoom adjustment on the dvx. It looks like a hobo, but it does the trick ;)
