Hi,
I'm wondering is the dvx100a capable of doing a good slow motion capture of a sports player hitting a ball so that I could bring it in to after effects and analyse the skills? Is 60fps enough for this kind of job??
thanks

Hey
The DVX is capable of doing good slow motion. I would suggest using a high shutter speed like 1/500 if you have the light available. This will enable you to see individual points during the swing. If you used a lower shutter the frames kind of blend together and you cant see the details as well when you are going through it. If you want smooth slow motion than maybe bring the shutter speed back down to 120.
The DVX is not capable of shooting 60fps. It shoots 60i which is 30fps. The HVX will shoot 60fps giving you much better slow motion.
I would suggest using different shutter speeds on swings and see which works best for the project.
