Hi everyone

I wanted to let you all know there is a director's screening of ILLEGAL (you've seen the screen caps http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=71299)

Jan28th 2:30PM - 3:30PM at Jargon Entertainment in Burbank. Refreshments will be served.

Andrew Oh and Kenneth Yeung - director and DP respectively - along with cast members and hopefully the camera op as well will be there to answer questions and talk about their use of the HVX-200 and the Redrock M2 adapter for creating really stunning cinematic footage.

There is no cost, so please come by. It should be a great event.

yeah, for those of you who have seen Jargon's screening room, it's really great. Stadium-style seating and a big, *big* screen.

At the moment we are only planning an LA screening - I can't speak for Andrew and his crew as to other plans

We are also distributing some DVDs with director and DP commentary at Sundance, where redrock is speaking at HD House (sat evening if anyone is attending).

You don't need to rsvp, just show up and please be prompt at 2:30.

Thanks

Brian

What would be the easiest way to get there from the L.A. airport? (I'm from the S.F. area)? Looks like its a expensive cab ride from LAX.
-thanks

Great, I'll try to make it.

robot909, there's not really too many good options for getting to Burbank. There's an extremely cheap express bus service from LAX to Union Station now, but from there it's sort of a pain in the ass to get to Burbank, since no metro lines go there. There is probably a series of buses that will get you there at the cost of a couple hours of your life. Are you just flying in and then flying back out? That's dedication!

the cab ride will be $70-75, it's close and the ride home costs $65 for me
(ONE WAY) do it wol sbe just a tad north of your average theatre tickets

Cheapest way would be to get a southwest flight to BUR :)
From LAX it is a *pain* to get to BUR, and southwest has a ton of cheap flights from SJC etc. to BUR. And Burbank airport is a million times (at leas) easier to manage than LAX

Dang Brian, that's some good looking stuff. Congrats to Andrew for a job well done with your adapter. :thumbup:

robot909, you are better off just renting a car for the day. If I lived closer to the airport, I'd offer you a ride.

I just found a car for 17-18/day on the 28th of Jan. Pick up 10am drop off 9pm.
Good luck. vbmenu_register("postmenu_827250", true);

Really? wht do you mean by cheap?
I'd love to use Burbank (Bob Hope Airport), it is "down the street" and so much smaller, but I allways heard it was like West Palm International, a total outrage...

Wow, a stunt car for $20?!?!? that sounds great!
(I meant rental car)

Just did a search on southwest.com (last year I probably had 30 or to trips BUR->SJC for work)

SJC->BUY on 1/28 and back on 1/29 is $70 (SJC-->BUR + $49 (BUR->SJC)

if you dig a little more on dates, then you can probably get $49 each way.
all + the usual ridiculous "taxes/fees" etc.

sorry but what city it SJC? is that close by? My flights are to north east and Florida

SJC is San Jose California -- bay area (that's where the original person traveling lives I think)

Southwest has good fares from BUR to lots of destinations as long as you dont mind traveling "cattle class"

however, if it's a popular destination for business (NYC, Botson etc.) then other airlines like American/United can be cheaper, and here BUR might not be such a good choice.

For 500-1000 mile trips on Southwest, it's hard to beat burbank if you live "close enough" to it.
