Rowe Cine Dolly Footage (Looking For)

Hey all,

I'm getting ready to make a purchase on a dolly, and the Rowe Cine Dolly that comes with the platform and all that looks interesting. I was just wondering if anyone had any footage using the dolly? I just want to see it in action before I make my purchased.

I look around here but all the threads that have footage have dead links (because they're so old). Any footage is appreciated!

Also, if anyone has any experience with the dolly's, I'd appreciate their thoughts and comments on it.

Dont buy a dollie. i bought one and i could have just made one. A thick peice of plywood, some angle iron, and skateboard wheels. Thats what they do at my film school.

Let me take some pics of my dolly and BLOW YOUR MINDS! I spent about $150 total and mine KILLs any other kit. Now where's my camera...

That would be great Logan! and maybe you could explain some about what all you did to make it. I've been wanting to make a dollie but haven't been able to settle on how to do it.

With the Rowe dolly, it comes down to what is your time worth ? Running to Home Depot and buying the raw parts, assembling it ....

The Cine dolly is worth every penny.

I'm not exactly the best "Do It Yourself" guy, and believe it or not, it would require more resources and time for me to build one myself than to just buy one pre-made that is up to the standards it's suppose to be.

In short, anyone got any footage lol? I'm just trying to do a little comparison. I checked the Rowe site and none of his videos are up yet so....anyone?

i built my own version of it about a year ago, and only untill lately realised how much noise it produces if im going any speed higher than,, well, slow movement. Forget about tracking shots with it.

i actually found a photo online somewhere a while back of someones diy construction of a dolly and i absolutely blew my mind that i had to print it out for future reference, hoping to one day build one.

sorry we do not have the demo footage up right now. we are working on a new reel for the products while working on a couple other items at the same time.

..this is excactly why we offer our products. because realistically people could build whatever they want, but its not always in thier best interest to simply pick up a hammer and start swinging. especially if they find themselves on the hired/professional/serious work side of the line. sometimes we can bend or blur the line, but heaven forbid were ever caught with shoulders shrugged on the wrong side of it. meanwhile im sure an old wheelbarrow is great as a dolly for some kid making his next you tube fan video. we offer great products at very respectable prices, and i know first hand how much it really costs on different levels to try and actually match DYI in quality, performance, and design with what we and other companies offer to simply click and buy. we should have more specs and information available on our site about the full Cine Dolly before too long. we are also working on a tips and tricks section that will help anyone using some sort of dolly in thier production that could use some simple answers or a couple helpful suggestions. thanks for the interest in our products and we wish you the best on your projects :)

I have one and I can say that I'm glad I bought it because I probably would have never had the time to test and tweak my own design. If you dont pick the right wheels you will get vibration because of either warping or because of design flaws. I saw this in someone elses homemade dolly. The wheels looked round and smooth but the rim had this design that actually warped the wheels every few mm. Riding them on skates or rollerblades you probably wouldnt feel it but used as a dolly you can see the slight vibration in the image.
So I would say its definitly worth the little bit of money. My drama fest coming up will have some footage from it.
