Hi guys!
A while back I bought a 0.7 WA Converter from Century Optics for my DVX100A. From day one the converter has performed poorly. It never occured to me my converter could be defective. Has anyone else experienced soft edges around the frame with the converter?

Here's an example:

Thanks!

Anyway always consider that TV will cut off the safety margin at the edges of the frame (ie the affected areas).

There are several complaints about the converter on the HVX, so I don't think this is a unique situation. I have always used and preferred Century lenses, but I have yet to meet anyone who was happy with their .75 on the HVX, and I think the .7 on the DVX has similar issues.

Segarza,
I've never seen a Century product look that soft in the outer 20+%.
You might want to contact them and include some frame grabs.
They're a good company and generally responsive.
Hope this helps.

I had issues just like this with the Century Optics .7x on the XL2. I lived with it until I sold my XL2 and now I have the Century .8x for the H1 and it is much better. However if you really look for it you can find a slight softening in the outer 5-10% but nothing to this degree.

Peace!
