LOTR... I thought I noticed something weird in Brandon's BTS photos...
oh crap! Who let this guy on the set???? damn. :) I keep telling the extras NOT to stare into the camera!!!

Funny stuff, Geoff. I am just now catching up on this thread. It is even too much for me to keep up with... especially last week!

Thanks for the kind words Mark Harris (and Geoff).

Last and most definitely not least, I have to thank all of you DVXUSERS so very much. Ted and I are both relative newbies and yet you've treated us with respect from the start. Your posts to this thread have been a real inspiration and have given us a sense of community that is rare these days. I hope all of you enjoy TTN and that you feel truly a part of it.
Here, here! Well said, my friend!

Sorry it's been so long without a response, Jack! I was fortunate enough to be cast as one of the stunt pilots for TTN, so I got to work with all these jokers for a couple of days.

Thanks everyone for making the movie set an awesome place to work! I had a great time being a part of TTN, and can't wait to see the finished product! Hope everyone made it home safely, and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Maybe if I got a neato picture by my name, that would help! Although I think I need 5 posts. Hmmmm... close... very close.

Thanks Ted!! It's pretty easy to do my job when everything is laid out so smoothly! I would jump on a project of yours in a New Hampshire minute. Do things move fast out there? 'Cause that's what I mean!

hey john, you can get yourself an avatar no matter how many posts you have. -- im pretty sure anyways. bullis had 4 posts and an avatar, didnt he?

anyways, i was the kid carrying the clipboard everywhere. snapped pictures of you three guys when you were in costume to keep tabs on the uniforms.

cool to see you on the boards! this is where the film was born and crewed!

I cannot keep up with this thread! I leave for a few hours and there's like 5 more pages!! Seriously, though, this looks like it has been a fun journey and what a fantastic collaboration.

John, you can have an avatar picture without a post count (unless they changed that). Let me know if you want help doing that.

Thanks. I appreciate the words. And I am hoping that New Hampshire will not be my home for long (though I absoluteloy love it there and will always go back!)

Those are some great looking screen grabs. Kevin's lighting does look nice.
Thanks Jeremy. I hope that I can meet you sometime. I've enjoyed your presence on the boards. Kevin is certainly ALL-PRO!

If there is any chance you guys have a BTS shot of this setup, I'd love to see (and hear Kevin's description) how this was lit. Beautiful

I'm gonna go ahead and second that.

Thanks guys. I know that Kevin can tell you exactly what he did.

Hey Kyle, Brandon.... put up a wide shot of the HANGAR set-up. Kevin can take it from there!

Kevin will be somewhat unavailable until Friday. He's at CES in Las Vegas. I think this is the lighting set up for that shot of Taylor. Of course, Kevin will let me know if I'm wrong...:)

I'll give it a try. Kevin can come back and whip my explanation into shape. The lighting setup in the above image is actually not for this picture, it is actually for the 2-Shot of Taylor and Eric that you see on page 256 of this thread. It is relatively close though.

The lighting setup for the Taylor's CU is actually one of the more simpler ones:

Kevin used a 4' Kino with 2900 K balanced bulbs positioned about 4 ft from the actress for the Key (and with only 3 of the bulbs struck, I believe.) Then we used a Arri 650 in a Chimera, and heavily flagged off for a bit of fill, and a Dedo 150 positioned high for the kicker and hair light.

That's about it, I believe.

I think you're right Tim!

Also, I think the pic is actually for the shot of Taylor when she sits on the bed looking through the book... see the dolly tracks there?

Here's a shot of Tim, working with Kevin, to set up the lighting for that shot:

(I don't think I've got the specific lighting setup for the shot of Taylor, though.)

You guys were all so right about the avatar. I got confused by the minimum 5 posts for uploads. We're all good now, and I'll use the current pic from the airshow as the look of Hollywood. No more confusion. Of course, I believe this is now my 5th post. Go figure.

Here are a couple of shots that show the hanger workspace we were working with. The first shows everything there, the second is partially lit for camera...

Yea, it was a very similar setup, just minus the reflector w/ the flags, etc that we used for fill.
