mhmm....

Just saw Mark, Ted, and Bullis... got my battery and gave them some footage I had shot with my DVX, and some stills for Mark... They are now heading to San Jose from the Antelope Valley.

Yo,We're on the road ... no mishaps yet. Ted is in the back seat reviewing footage on his powerbook. We'll be rolling into the bay area around 10 pm if all goes well.mark

Nope, I'm not driving while typing. Bullis is flying this machine and I'm typing on my Treo. Ted just showed me a rough edit of the briefing room scene and it rocks!!!! I've asked him to post a frame or two so Kevin can comment on the lighting. It is really a sumptious look and is my favorite lighting in the film.

I wanted to stop by and say thanks to all the blokes who put up with Mark's A.D.D during this shoot. An even bigger congrats to anyone who braved Ted's conversations with invisible people throughout the weekend. I have since become a more even-tempered person and I now understand the importance of good genes.

On a more serious note:

The last week has been one of the best experiences I've had on a set to date. I really enjoyed getting to work with my partners in crime (Blaine and Kevin) once again and I got to meet some awesome new people. I wish I didn't have to say the same stuff everybody else has, but I just really had a great time.

I don't even care if the movie comes out looking like a turd with a maggot penis flying through the sky. This project had a great balance between awesome teamwork/luck and times when you're thinking "What the hell is that person thinking?!" I think that might be some of my favorite parts of making a movie. Seeing so many different personalities get out there and make it happen. It makes for a really fun couple of nights reminiscing about the hard and the good times. I really do believe this film will be pretty frickin cool, and am very proud to have been a part of it.

Blaine/Kevin: Always a pleasure and I look forward to finishing Violet! I've learned alot from you guys and I am very appreciative. It's hard to complain when you're getting free film school, and that's kinda what I'm getting from you guys. You know I'm there anytime you need some help.

Ted: I was watching you closely and can honestly say I was learning alot, so thanks alot for the help, even if you didn't know you were giving it. I can't wait till you get the go-nads to get your arse out here and do another one! Hit me up anytime, we can chat and get drunk on the phone together. Just don't try anything frisky.

Mark: Mr. Johnson, I'm positive we'll be working together again in the very near future. I can tell we're gonna be friends for a long time. I'll probably be at your funeral you bastard. You're really a stellar dude, and I look forward to the next time we get to hit the set together.

Bullis: You da man. Mark said it best: "Everyone needs a Bullis on set." If anybody ever gets to meet this cat, you will be impressed. Talk about a person who really just wants to help and get stuff done. Thanks for the help man.

Alex/Kyle: Keep it up guys, I can tell you're fast learners. Very few people can collapse a single C-stand in 15 minutes on their first try. I'm totally kidding, you guys were great. I can't wait till you get your Nebrasses out here so we can work together again. Hurry up.

Tim.

I think I'll pass along all my thanks to the cast and crew of Threading the Needle.

Mark & Ted, it was a lot of work but it was also a lot of fun...hell, we made a movie!!!  Now, you guys, get to work on the post production and get us something to look at... Thanks for the opportunity to work on the project. :dankk2:

It's always great to work with Kevin and Tim. I hope we can continue working together with the team we've been building.

It was good to meet Scott, Kyle, Alex and Brandon and get to work on set with you.

Caroline Buss...what a pro!!!

And what about those actors!!! Taylor Ray (Laurie), David Concannon, Tom Marshall, John Hermann, Nadir Hasan, Craig Stoa, Joy Nash, Ayla Rose Barreau...pros one and all. And how 'bout that Rob Harrison. He held his own and flew the **** out of that Zlin.

I really can't wait to see how this comes out.

Oh, and to all the other Dvxusers on the project: You already know how much I appreciated you and your contributions.

Dvxuser in 2008!

Yeah, it was an awesome experience. I think everyone did a fantastic job!

We had some ups and downs on this thing. Take Kevin winding up in the hospital as an example. He was sick as a dog one night, but stayed until we wrapped at somewhere around 2am!

Blaine also has a lot of respect from me. As a producer, he's top notch. I'm looking forward to working with both him and Kevin (and Tim, and David, and probably Brandon... ane whomever else I'm leaving out...) on my next project, which should be coming up soon!

Tim, you did such a great job... You're really turning into a filmmaking machine here my friend...

Ted, you were an inspiration in your directing role. You really stepped up and made sure that you got exactly what you wanted. I might hire you in the future to direct... ya never know... :)

Mark, you did a great job putting this story together along with Ted. I'm so impressed that everything came out as well as it did and you were a key part of that! That and the VFX for this thing are going to kick ASS... I know it!

Brandon, you really jumped on board and helped out tremendously. I was very impressed by that.

Bullis, you're a very cool guy and things went smoother since you were involved...

And the cast:
David Concannon, you're a great person to work with and I'm looking forward to sharing more screen time with you in the future...

All the other cast, you were also great to work with as well!

Hey all, We just got back from Southern Cal. I understand that Mark has filled you in on my backseat editing bay and promised a grab.

Well, here it is! (I've had to compress the heck out of it... sorry!)

Kevin, please feel free to explain your gorgeous work!

I have more to post but have to run out and grab something to eat.... We have a lot of work ahead of us. Got to keep our strength up!

I've heard some of the nice words spread on this thread as Mark read to us (Bullis and me) while we traveled. I appreciate it and will read through and comment later.

That's the addition I need for my editing bay, a big HD TV as my second monitor!

I just found out I'm going to LA for a quick shoot in about two weeks, which is nice... but darn it, I wish it'd had been sooner so I could have helped out on TTN!!
