Mark and Ted's Excellent Adventure in Drama

Congratulations guys, sounds like you did it right on all fronts.

Can't wait to see the fruit of your labors!

(even though I've already seen Mark's Fruit of the Loom's - been there done that)

I believe Mark wears Hanes... I tried to read the tag when he fell asleep watching Discovery channel in his dangerously small boxers while we stayed in San Jose.

Don't hold me to it.

great stuff today! And we found your battery Blaine....
SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!

Glad you got great shots today, too. Does that pretty much wrap shooting? Or are you still going to try and find a cemetery?

Just got back to Palos Verdes and Scott is preparing dinner for us and our hosts. Today we got amazing footage and I'll try to put some stuff up later. Blaine, I have a cemetery shot all lined up so we'll definitely have that scene. We also plan to swing west for some specific footage that our effects team wants. Tim says he'll get your battery back to you no worries.

Brandon, thanks for everything and I truly have to tell you that your ideas and your camera work were blessings indeed.

I miss Alex and Kyle very much and wish they could have been here. However, I am sure both will return soon. I can't imagine shooting without them now.

Blaine, I cannot put into words how much I appreciated your professionalism, attitude and knowledge. I can't thank you enough for jumping into your sweats and driving a battery to us this morning. Had you not done so we would have been screwed. Instead, we got wonderful footage of the hangar opening and the Zlin heading down the taxiway.

Kevin, I still am stunned at the depth of your knowledge and experience. You accomplished so much and both Ted and I are honored to have you helm the photography. Our film would be so much less without your talents.

Tim, you know how much I appreciate your talents. The past couple of days have really been amazing and I've enjoyed getting to know you more than I can say.

Chris Real was an angel in so many ways as well. Not only has he provided gear and props all week (as well as donating a secretary when an actress failed to show for a scene), he set us up with a complete mobile luxury trailer to shoot from yesterday and today.

I'll thank the cast in a separate posting to the cast yahoo group. However, I do want to say here that we were blessed beyond measure to have such talent willing to put up with our quirks and foibles.

Last and most definitely not least, I have to thank all of you DVXUSERS so very much. Ted and I are both relative newbies and yet you've treated us with respect from the start. Your posts to this thread have been a real inspiration and have given us a sense of community that is rare these days. I hope all of you enjoy TTN and that you feel truly a part of it.

Hi John.

Who are you and how do you know this bunch of miscreants?

Sorry it's been so long without a response, Jack! I was fortunate enough to be cast as one of the stunt pilots for TTN, so I got to work with all these jokers for a couple of days.

Thanks everyone for making the movie set an awesome place to work! I had a great time being a part of TTN, and can't wait to see the finished product! Hope everyone made it home safely, and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.

This is my favorite grab... if you look closely, you'll see my wife on set!

Well folks, we had a f'n great time with this shoot. It wasn't easy but with such a great crew and group of actors it was enjoyable... always. Evenings went long and mornings came early but it was always a joy to be on set with these people making this film.

As for this film, I am absolutely delighted with what we got in the can. I will say that I wish we could have gotten and done more but the days will come when Mark and Ted's Excellent Adventures start operating in the 6 digit budgets!!! For now, we have something very special and I am very proud of what we have accomplished over the past 9 1/2 weeks. Very proud.

I haven't been much of a presence here and I miss being here. I found it tough just to log into the internet this week as all I did was focus on the film. This next week, I will have much more time to post stills as we sit infront of the computers working post production... and I am sure that the internet will always be on in the background!

I wanted to again identify and thank the individual dvxusers that came to work on this film.

Kevin Halverson, khmuse
Blaine Golden, Blaine
Tim Hyten, Slimothy
Kyle Stebbins
Brandon Rice
Alex Jeffrey

...our actor of dvxuser,
Tom Marshall, tommyinla
David Concannon

and I don't know if Scott Bullis is actually a dvxuser by membership but he is a guy that every dvxuser must have on set!

And especially... Mark Johnson. A gifted and smart man with a heart of gold. This guy, literally, would give you the shirt off his back. (Though, I don't think that I would accept it! )

Seriously, Mark Johnson's soul is all over this production... and it couldn't have been made without him. It was an honor to direct this story of his that he has been living with for more than 4 years (I believe it's 5).

Thank you, Mark.

These guys, all of them, are so great and I value the time that I got to share working with and getting to know them. Truly, new relations were developed.

Before I sign off from my last night in LA, I just wanted everyone to know that my wife has on set with me for the last 2 days of principle photography and it was great to have her so near!

And today, Mark gave me the day off to spend relaxing with my wife as he, Tim and Bullis shot second unit b-roll. (thanks again, Mark!)

My wife and I took a walk through the amazing gardens of the hillside "estate" overlooking the Santa Monica bay and the greater LA area. (It is just amazing here! You've seen the pictures and I'll post some of my own soon.)

We then watched our New England Patriots kick butt on a 10 foot wide TV.

Then we took the BMW for a spin, down along the beacheside communities to Venice Beach, where we had a nice hour-long walk.

Then we drove Sunset Blvd from the beach to Hollywood, passing through Bel Air and Beverly Hill's. A beautiful drive.

I then, sadly, took her to the airport. But we had a fabulous time together and I am so thankful that we could work out her visit.

Okay, I am done with my novel.

Thank you again. Expect the good stuff soon!

-Ted

Morning has broken over Santa Monica bay ...

We plan to return the grip gear and truck this morning in Hollywood and will then head east (hmmm. that reminded me of a 70's band) to take Tim home. We'll then bend up north through the mountains and deliver Brandon's battery to him (Brandon I sent you an e-mail a minute ago).

Ted, Scott and I will make the drive to San Jose where we'll get serious with post production and editing. VFX team, we're up now. You can expect footage uploaded on the VFX group site by tomorrow.

Ted, thanks so very much for those kind words. It was a pleasure to give you and Diane some special time in California. Tim was cranking the camera and he did spectacular on the stuff we got yesterday. I can't say enough about him and how much he added to the shoot.

I've just caught up on this thread and I'll I can say is, "Wow guys... F-Ing Wow!! "

Great info Kevin, Mark, and Ted and awesome BTS Brandon. Who needs to buy all those extra BTS DVDs for King Kong or LOTR when you have this thread. Congrats on the shoot guys (I hope some day I'll get the chance to work with all of you guys).

Now, I can't wait for the Post-Production Diaries:)

Tuning in again for a short period o'time. Congrats to the entire team on finished photography.

Can't believe the end of this Fest is already almost here. Fast!

Things are looking really great guys. I am sure this product will turn out very nice, and all of the collaboration and hard work put into will show.

Great work,
Jason
