New PDF Tutorial 2007!!! DIY vibrating 35mm DOF Adapter

rock on Daniel. thanks for sharing. I've just been looking into using those extension tubes myself for the next version on my adapter and you've answered some questions that had come up with my own experiments making the vibrating screen.

Ive been asked so many times about that tutorial so I decided to write it finally. Its hard to go through the thousands of old posts to find the right information of building an adapter.

Im glad I could help.

If someone has new ideas or improvements just tell me and I will update it.

Wow! Looking great!

Now if I only had all the material right now...

Looks like alot of work, I bet a bunch of people will download it.

Hi Rich,
your doing something wrong then.
If you are rotating the knob of the rheostat the motor should run slower until it stops or you dont have the right value of the rheostat. Look the connecting schematic in my tutorial.

this is what DIY is all about: helping and improving on the design... makign it look pretty is always a good thing too

With the knob turned to the fullest, dust are nice complete circles, when the knob goes down, the duct becomes move evident. I hooked up it correctly. I'm saying, I don't need the rheostat for it work properly. When full vibration is at it's max, it works fine. I tried to slow it down, speed it up and got better results when the knob was turned at it's highest peak. I have the right petentiometer. 25ohms.

Ok I understand,

sorry, I forgot you are using this cellular diffusor. Its lighter than the normal focusing screens or wax gg's ive tested. The weight of the used focusing screen also changes the vibration. Did you tried to glue some little lead balls (from fishing accessoires) around the gg to make it little heavier. Maybe you can get better vibration if its heavier. Only a thought...
