I'm sure you've read my PM by the time you read this post, so it should be cleared up. To those that did not get my PM to you (as it was... to you), I do not think for a second that I have any say in what groups do when they get together. You sound like a fine person as well as everyone else in here. My only intent was to let you know what I read in your post. Nothing more. Just one guy's interpretation of some words in message forum.

I think it's better to get to know people before breaking out equipment and trying to colaborate. Just my thoughts. And it doesnt have to involve alchohol. (But I guarantee after 10 minutes with me you'll be asking for a drink.)

Please continue as planned. Not only do I not intend to step in, I dont want to step in. Just giving my opinion. Nothing more.

And as I mentioned, if I'm not shooting that day I will be there. And if we are shooting that night, I'm dragging you all to the shoot with me.

And, I'll be honest: socializing is fun, meeting new people is great, but my real goal, in the end, is socializing with new people with whom I can also build working relationships.

Maybe I'll even come at 1PM and have a spot of lunch. Anybody want to meet for lunch first?

There is no reason to meet earlier to eat (unless you don't wanteat to wait until 2 pm). The place is a restaurant during the day and we are not going to be doing anything at 2 that would stop people from eating or drinking whatever they wanted (but you don't have to because it is also a pub and you can just hang out). Sounds like most want to socialize anyway so food and drink go well with that.

Happy to talk about the LACC. It's a great organization.

My problem on Saturday is I've got to leave by 3PM for another meeting, in Lynwood (bummer). But I can meet folks and see who else wants to shoot spec spots, etc.
 
I can be there on Saturday, but I don't get off of work until 1:00-2:00ish, so I might be a few minutes late... somebody let me know who/what kind of people to look for, and I'll join you guys as soon as possible.

I think it will be self evident. There are certain traits that DVXUser people have that are not easily put into words, but you know one when you see one.

Kind of like that famous quote, "I can't describe it, but I know it when I see it."
 
Kelly? Are you coming? Just come anyway--you sound like an interesting person with a lot to offer. GageFX, you come too, damnit! Please, everyone, just come! Hopefully, I'll make it there, unless some other crap I have to do gets in the way (working Golden Globes this weekend).

For next time: more people, with more time. Plus, more of those hot chick-type DVX users I hear so much about. I know you're out there.

Sorry! But I was out 2nd AC'ing, pulling focus, for a shoot. "Slacking off" LOL But will try to make it next time. I didn't know I was not going to make it until a week ago.
