shot this with redrock 35 adapter.

Wanted to try something simple for my first full music video using the adapter. I shot this in approx. 6 hours, 2 locations, 3 days to edit, and practically no budget...the guy was a good friend. He got the hook up deal!

love to hear what you think.

Great job! Another pro job done with the HVX. I would love to see a larger version though. Which lenses did u use? Also i thought the forest scenes looked awesome. I think you'll do very well if music vids are what u want to do.

That looked really nice. I too would have also liked to see a larger version, but if not, it's still awesome! Very professional.

Keep doing what your doin'! It may lead to overwhelming success. :)

did u use any filters? some of it looked intentionally soft. may have been just my lcd eyes though. great pacing through that vid. looks very pro.

About that vingetting effect...

Was that in post, or did you have some corner-darkening issues with the M2? Obviously the more pronounced stuff was in post--like the bedroom scene--but in some of the others it looked like the undesired vinetting I get when my M2 isn't adjusted properly.

Upon second watching of your footage, I'm pretty sure all your vingetting was on purpose. But just so I don't feel crazy, have you ever had corner softness/darkness problems with the M2? If so, how did you overcome them?

Some of the vignetting was not intentional, but I ran with it. Here is the issues I found with using the adapter. First off, I'm a big "run and gun" type of shooter. I love to get off the sticks, and for this reason I have been reluctant to use the 35 adapter because of the combursome 35mm setup. I've used it maybe 5-6 times in year that I've owned it. Now, another typical style for me if you've seen my work, I love the quick whip zooms and eratic camera movements. With the 35 adapter, you have a very small window to zoom. Honestly, you probably shouldn't be trying to zoom at all, but if you do, and you zoom to far out, you will get the vignetting.

So long story short, if you have a good external monitor, you will not get the vignetting effect (as seen on the majority of my shots). If your a "runner & gunner" like me, you learn to take the good with the bad and in some cases improvise the bad to be good. Uhhmm, or something like that :)

Lastly, I will more than likely use the adapter for everything for now on. This was the one video I needed to releive my stress of shooting with the 35 adapter. I feel totally confident shooting with it for now on! Just takes some practice ;)

The stock lens is great and I use it for promotional/industrial projects. I will only use the adapter for creative uses such as music videos or whenever I'm looking for that ultimate film look.

I think the video looked great. I went to your website and checked demo reel and it's one of the better reels that i've seen

First off Epp great work as always. I have't to say the lake shots are freaking amazing! Pure beauty. Only thing that I could think off is I would like to have seen some more shallow DOF shots with the adaptor. Looks very good.
