I like it, well done. But, just a consideration from off shore: calling the written destiny of the kid with the Compton caption disturbs me. It's ok if the shop is there, otherwise for me is an old assumption.

Gorgeous. Have you considered trying a duotone/monochorome single color tinted look? Like adding some blue in FCP's cc, after desaturating to BW?

should be h.264, no idea why it would say AVC1, seems like quicktime confuses the two?

i did add blue to the darker tones, magenta to the midtones and yellow to the highlights with varying saturation levels and it came out looking very interesting, but not good enough to beat out the good ol b & w.
