Mark and Ted's Excellent Adventure in Drama

No kidding. Hey Kevin, I might be looking for a good DP in the next couple of weeks. When you guys wrap? :)

P.S. - I may be planning a trip out to SoCal in Feb, and would love to hang with some of you cats.

We are scheduled to wrap this project by the end of this week with the exception of a 2nd unit shot that I will grab a bit later. After TTN I will be out of town until the 12th, hope to shot a scene for another project on the 14th, but otherwise, unbooked for the remainder of the month.

Let me know the scope of your project and the details, would be happy to consider it.

Kevin

sorry, that was a joke at Timur's expense. Not that I wouldn't want to work with you, but I thought I would just dig at him.

Well, I am off to lunch, and then soon after heading to set... would someone PLEASE call me if the call time changes... I think several of you have my number... thanks!

The number of flags, silks and nets in this setup were pretty amazing. I ended up running out of C-Stands (we had a 2 ton grip truck package, so that was near 20 stands) and had to resort to grip clipping flags to the sides of other flags (not something that I recommend as you can damage them if your are not careful).

WOW!! 20 C-Stands!! We only have a one C-Stand (and the C stands for Cymbal, as in drum set cymbal).

Nice setup Kevin! Thanks for the information. I'd love to see a picture of the setup at some point (I'm really trying to learn lighting so any info is great and much appreciated.)

No change to call time, its still 4:00 PM. Looks like we will end up pushing scene 5 to tomorrow evening because of the availability of the emergency vehicles. Might end up loosing 27A to recover the time lost, but we will see tomorrow.

Hey Kevin, someone once told me about mixing filmmaking and the real world... I can't remember who gave me the advice or the exact wording, but I do recall that it was damn good advice...

Sounds like a load of fun guys. Glad you're all having a blast. Anyway, Mark, it was a pleasure talking with you briefly last night. The comments and advice were appreciated. I'll see what I can do about getting treatments ready for thos ideas. I'll also see what I can do to get my butt to L.A. at some point.

Oh yeah! For sure. Hey, hope the other guys were able to get that final shot and wrap tonight....

Yep, the last shot went off just fine. The 1.2k HMI did a fine job of lighting the walk around of "Eric's" aircraft. Even 20' in the air and after punching through a 4' x 4' silk, I had plenty to work with. We were off set by 10:30 PM and the grip truck was loaded ready to move to out next location today. Not to bad at all.

Luckily, its just a move across the airport to the tower side.

We have learned and everyone now asks Mark if the truck has fuel before we allow it to leave!

Ha ha..... I would remind everyone that when we ran out of gas Ted was at the wheel and when we blew a tire Bullis was at the wheel. I am an innocent bystander tainted by the harsh blows dealt by fortuna to those amongst me.
